Role Description The Project Design Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai. This role oversees end-to-end project design, including concept development, detailed design planning, and coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet client requirements and organizational standards. The Project Design Manager manages design schedules, reviews technical drawings and documentation, and ensures quality, compliance, and timely delivery of project outputs. Responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders, providing design guidance to team members, resolving design-related issues, and optimizing design processes for efficiency and accuracy. The role also involves regular reporting on project progress, risk identification, and alignment of design activities with overall project and business objectives.
Qualifications
- Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and coordination of design activities.
- Proficiency in design development, review of technical drawings, and design documentation practices.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders to translate requirements into effective design solutions.
- Experience implementing quality standards, design best practices, and compliance with relevant codes or industry regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities for handling complex design and project challenges.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present design concepts and project updates to diverse audiences.
- Leadership capabilities to guide design teams, mentor junior staff, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, design, or a related field; advanced qualifications or certifications in project management are an advantage.
- Relevant experience in managing design projects in consulting, engineering, construction, or related industries, preferably in an on-site environment.
