Position Title -: Project Coordinator
Location -: Local Project Office with regular field visits
Number of Posts-:1
Salary-: 25,000 to 30,000 CTC per month
The Project Coordinator will oversee the planning, implementation, coordination, and monitoring of the community health and literacy project. The role is responsible for ensuring all project components health camps, health awareness, follow-up consultations, government scheme linkages, and adult literacy are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Key Objectives
• Ensure effective and timely implementation of all project components
• Coordinate across project staff, health service providers, government agencies, and community structures
• Monitor programme quality and outcomes through regular field visits and data review
• Facilitate tele- and in-person consultation linkages for community members with health concerns
• Lead reporting, documentation, and knowledge management for the project
• Lead day-to-day management and coordination of the community health and literacy project
• Develop detailed implementation plans, activity calendars, and work plans in coordination with the programme team
• Supervise and support Community Mobilizers, Health Awareness Facilitators, and Adult Literacy Facilitators
• Oversee organisation of health check-up camps, screenings (general health, eye check-ups, preventive checks), and coordinate with medical professionals
• Establish and manage referral and follow-up systems for community members identified with health concerns, including tele-consultation and in-person doctor sessions
• Coordinate with government health departments, district authorities, Ayushman Bharat/PM-JAY offices, and social security agencies to facilitate scheme enrolment and linkages
• Design and maintain the project MIS (Management Information System); ensure all field staff record and submit data accurately and on time
• Develop and standardise data collection tools, registers, and reporting formats for all project components
• Consolidate field data from all team members; verify data quality and ensure completeness before entry into MIS
• Conduct regular monitoring field visits to assess implementation quality, data accuracy, and adherence to project plans; document findings and follow-up actions
• Track project indicators against targets on a monthly basis and flag deviations to the programme management team with corrective actions
• Coordinate baseline, mid-term, and end-line assessments in collaboration with the M&E team or external evaluators
• Prepare high-quality monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports with data analysis, key findings, case studies, and recommendations
• Compile and analyse programme data to generate insights for programme improvement and donor reporting
• Manage project budget in coordination with the finance team; ensure proper use and documentation of resources
• Facilitate capacity-building sessions, review meetings, and training workshops for field staff including orientation on data collection and MIS tools
• Maintain partnerships with local stakeholders including panchayats, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, and community leaders
• Ensure adherence to organisational policies, safeguarding standards, and ethical guidelines in all project activities
Qualifications & Experience
• Graduate or Postgraduate in Social Work, Public Health, Development Studies, or a related field (MSW/MPH preferred)
• Minimum 4–5 years of experience in project coordination/management in the health or development sector
• Prior experience managing community health, health literacy, or livelihood projects
• Experience working with government health schemes (Ayushman Bharat, JSSY, etc.) and social security programmes is highly desirable
• Proven experience in team management and capacity building of field staff
• Track record of managing M&E systems and preparing high-quality project reports
• Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in local language and English
• Sound knowledge of public health systems, primary healthcare, and community health approaches
• Strong M&E skills: ability to design indicator frameworks, data collection tools, and conduct field-based monitoring
• Experience managing MIS systems; ability to consolidate, analyse, and present data meaningfully
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience working with project MIS and tracking tools
• Ability to prepare high-quality narrative and data reports for internal and donor audiences
• Ability to liaise effectively with government officials, healthcare providers, and community stakeholders
• Strong organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to gender sensitivity, community participation, and rights-based approaches
