Position Title: Coordinator – Green Skills Initiative (Consultant)
Reporting To: Asst. Manager-Project Manager
Location: Bengaluru (with extensive travel across rural Karnataka)
Position Type: Consultant
Salary : 30K to 40K per month

1. Role Overview
The coordinator – Green Skills Initiative will be responsible for end-to-end implementation of the project, including partner coordination, field mobilization, monitoring, reporting both programmatic and financial, and ensuring strong market linkages for successful placement or self-employment of participants. The role demands a dynamic professional with strong experience in the skilling ecosystem, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage deeply with rural communities.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Project Implementation
- Design and develop a detailed project implementation plan aligned with the approved project proposal, in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Ensure monthly milestones and deliverables are achieved by closely coordinating with the training partner and internal project teams.
- Lead all reporting processes and deliver high-quality, timely project reports as committed to the donor.
- Track, monitor, and report project budget utilisation in prescribed formats, ensuring financial compliance and timely submission.
B. Partner Coordination & Monitoring
- Work closely with the training partner organisation to draft, monitor, and evaluate a clear plan of action for effective implementation.
- Take full ownership of participant mobilisation from the target geography, ensuring high-quality outreach and enrolment.
- Design and execute customized mentoring and support plans for participants to ensure 100% retention through the program.
- Collaborate with the M&E team to design measurable monitoring strategies and provide on-ground support for data collection and evaluation.
- Conduct periodic field visits to monitor progress and document compelling impact stories for external communication.
- Undertake home visits and other verification processes to ensure high compliance standards are met.
- Coordinate with the MarCom team to produce quality event-based and visibility-oriented content for social and print media.
C. Market Linkages & Strategic Partnerships
- Develop and implement a market linkage strategy with support from the project manager and partner organisation to secure employment opportunities.
- Plan, organise, and lead Career and Job Fairs as per project guidelines, including employer outreach, engagement, and event execution.
- Identify and support participants in pursuing self-employment opportunities through targeted handholding, partnerships, and ecosystem connections.
3. Qualifications & Experience Required
- Minimum 4 years of experience in the skilling sector, with a proven track record in rural youth mobilisation within Karnataka.
- At least 2 years of experience managing CSR-funded skilling or livelihood projects for reputed organisations.
- Strong communication skills with excellent command over Kannada and English (spoken and written).
- Deep understanding of the skilling ecosystem, including training processes, market linkages, and placement strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in project management with measurable outputs and deliverables.
- Willingness to travel extensively to rural areas and strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with community members.
- Proven financial acumen with experience in budget planning, tracking, and reporting.
