Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Project Accountant role based in Ahmedabad. The Project Accountant will oversee project-level accounting, including tracking project costs, preparing budgets, and monitoring variances against approved estimates. Responsibilities include processing invoices, verifying vendor bills, managing purchase orders, and ensuring timely payments aligned with project milestones. The role involves maintaining accurate project-wise ledgers, preparing financial reports for management, and supporting cash flow planning for ongoing and upcoming projects. The Project Accountant will collaborate closely with project managers, site teams, vendors, and the finance department to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards, while supporting audits and documentation requirements. The role also includes assisting with forecasting, cost optimization, and financial analysis to support decision-making across multiple interior design and fit-out projects.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in project accounting, including project costing, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, ERP systems) and MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Solid understanding of accounts payable, receivables, general ledger posting, and reconciliations.
- Experience handling vendor invoices, purchase orders, and coordination with procurement and project teams.
- Knowledge of basic taxation, GST, and compliance requirements relevant to construction or interiors projects.
- Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and documentation skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications are a plus.
- Prior experience in construction, interior design, real estate, or project-based industries is highly advantageous.
