Job Skills / Requirements
We are currently hiring for a Part-Time General Cleaner position with a pay rate of $16.75 per hour, located in a warehouse setting on the east side of Madison. The Schedule is: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. We are looking for candidates who are reliable, detail-oriented, and experienced.
Daily responsibilities include cleaning dining room tables and microwaves, restocking condiments and paper supplies, troubleshooting the coffee machine, breaking down cardboard boxes, emptying trash and recycling, and maintaining four restrooms. This role requires reading and writing in English. Steel-toe shoes are required and reibursment can be given.
A day porter/day matron is required to clean and maintain public areas in and outside of a building or complex.
Maintain the interior and exterior cleanliness, as well as the appearance of office or building locations.
Works well in a team or individual setting to accomplish goals.
JOB SUMMARY:The Day Porter/Matron is responsible for keeping both indoor and outdoor public areas of a building or complex clean and well-maintained. This role ensures the overall appearance of the property is presentable at all times. The position requires the ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete tasks efficiently. The porter is also responsible for general cleaning, basic maintenance, and communicating any building needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the day in areas such as the lobby, sidewalks, elevators, stairwells, parking areas, plazas, landscaping, utility spaces, gutters, and statues, as directed by the Building Manager. Also clean and maintain loading docks and freight/service areas on all levels.
- Perform general cleaning tasks including trash removal, dust mopping, vacuuming carpets, and routine floor mopping.
- Regularly clean and disinfect restroom fixtures according to the schedule set by management.
- Keep restrooms stocked with necessary supplies such as soap and paper products.
- Perform routine spot cleaning and dusting throughout the building.
- Clean, vacuum, and rinse lobby mats as needed.
- Set up and break down meeting rooms based on service requests.
- Return recycling bins to their designated floors.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by management or based on client needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Initiative to take on additional responsibilities when needed.
- Ability to stand or walk for the entire shift and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, carrying, and reaching overhead in a dynamic work environment.
- Capability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
