JOB DESCRIPTION: PROGRAM OFFICER

Job Summary
The Program Manager will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing education and women empowerment programs. The role involves community mobilization, building school partnerships, managing internships, mentoring teachers, coordinating programs, and mobilizing resources to ensure sustainability and impact.
Key ResponsibilitiesCommunity Mobilization & Campaigns
Lead grassroots engagement strategies by identifying target communities, conducting need assessments, and building trust with local stakeholders. Plan and execute awareness drives, door-to-door outreach, community meetings, and large-scale campaigns to maximize participation and program visibility.
Social Campaign Design & Execution
Conceptualize and implement campaigns focused on education, gender equality, and women empowerment. Develop campaign materials, coordinate digital and offline outreach, and measure effectiveness through defined indicators such as reach, engagement, and behavioral change.
School Partnerships & Social Clubs
Identify and onboard schools for long-term collaboration. Establish and manage student-led social clubs focused on leadership, civic responsibility, and social awareness. Develop activity calendars and ensure consistent engagement within schools.
School Coordination
Act as the primary liaison with school principals, teachers, and administrators. Ensure alignment of program goals with school schedules, resolve operational challenges, and maintain strong institutional relationships.
Internship Management
Design internship frameworks, recruit interns, conduct orientation and training sessions, assign roles, and monitor performance. Ensure meaningful learning experiences while aligning intern contributions with program objectives.
Teacher Mentorship
Provide continuous support to teachers through training workshops, classroom observations, feedback sessions, and resource sharing. Strengthen teaching methodologies, classroom management, and student engagement practices.
Program Planning & Coordination
Develop detailed implementation plans for education and women empowerment programs. Coordinate across teams, manage timelines, ensure quality delivery, and adapt strategies based on field realities.
Monitoring & Reporting
Track program performance using data-driven tools. Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports highlighting achievements, challenges, and impact metrics. Maintain proper documentation for audits and donor reporting.
Resource Mobilization
Identify funding opportunities, build donor relationships, and mobilize financial and non-financial resources. Coordinate volunteer engagement and manage resource allocation efficiently.
Proposal Development & Fundraising
Draft high-quality project proposals, concept notes, and donor reports. Collaborate with leadership for fundraising strategies and ensure alignment with donor priorities.
Stakeholder Engagement
Engage with community leaders, NGOs, government bodies, and corporate partners. Build networks to enhance program reach, credibility, and sustainability.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure all programs adhere to organizational policies, legal regulations, and donor guidelines. Maintain transparency, ethical standards, and proper documentation across all activities.
Qualifications & Experience
· Master’s degree in Social Work, Education, Development Studies, or related field.
· Minimum 3–5 years of experience in program management in NGO/education sector.
· Experience in community engagement and women empowerment programs preferred.
· Strong understanding of school systems and education programs.
