Role Overview:
The Program Officer will be responsible for the complete program lifecycle—program sourcing, government and CSR linkages, registrations, planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting. The role requires ownership from identifying opportunities to delivering measurable impact on ground.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Sourcing & Resource Mobilization
- Identify and secure new programs through CSR, government schemes, foundations, and institutional donors
- Research funding opportunities, RFPs, EOIs, and partnerships at national and state levels
- Develop proposals, concept notes, budgets, presentations, and grant applications
- Build and maintain relationships with corporates, donors, and partner organizations
- Support fundraising strategy and pipeline development
2. Government Programs & Registrations
- Identify relevant central/state government schemes and align organizational programs
- Lead registrations and empanelment on portals such as NGO Darpan, CSR-1, Skill India/NSDC, state departments, and other government platforms
- Coordinate for approvals, MoUs, and onboarding under government programs
- Ensure timely renewal of registrations, licenses, and statutory compliances
- Maintain documentation required for audits and government reporting
3. Program Design & Planning
- Design project frameworks, implementation plans, and timelines
- Develop budgets, resource plans, and operational strategies
- Define KPIs, output and outcome indicators for each program
- Customize programs based on community needs and donor requirements
4. Program Implementation & Field Management
- Execute projects across thematic areas: livelihood, education, women empowerment, health & hygiene, and climate change
- Manage field teams, trainers, vendors, and volunteers
- Ensure community mobilization, beneficiary identification, and engagement
- Oversee day-to-day operations and resolve implementation challenges
- Ensure timely delivery and quality of program activities
5. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Track progress against targets and indicators
- Conduct field visits, audits, and quality checks
- Prepare donor reports, utilization reports, case studies, and impact reports
- Maintain beneficiary data, attendance, and activity records
- Support impact assessment and learning documentation
6. Stakeholder & Partnership Management
- Act as the key point of contact for donors, corporates, and government officials
- Manage communications, reviews, and meetings with stakeholders
- Develop and manage partnerships with NGOs, institutions, and local bodies
7. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain complete project documentation (proposals, agreements, reports)
- Ensure financial tracking in coordination with accounts team
- Support audit requirements and ensure transparency
- Ensure adherence to donor guidelines and organizational policies
8. Communication & Visibility
- Support content creation for reports, social media, and donor communication
- Document success stories, case studies, and field insights
- Assist in showcasing impact for branding and fundraising
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Social Work, Development Studies, Management, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in NGO/CSR/project management
- Experience in government liaison, registrations, and proposal writing preferred
- Strong communication, documentation, and coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
