The Program Officer will provide field-level coordination and monitoring support across the project centers. The position will ensure effective implementation of Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE), nutrition, health, hygiene, and parent engagement activities while maintaining strong relationships with communities, caregivers, local stakeholders, service providers and funding partners.
The incumbent will be responsible for community mobilization, beneficiary enrolment, coordination of awareness activities and health camps, monitoring attendance and service delivery, maintaining project documentation, and supporting timely reporting to ensure achievement of project objectives.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Community Mobilization & Beneficiary Engagement
- Conduct community outreach and mobilization activities for enrolment of eligible children (2–6 years).
- Build rapport with parents, caregivers, community leaders, and local stakeholders.
- Conduct home visits to improve attendance and strengthen parent participation.
- Support implementation of Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) activities related to nutrition, hygiene, early childhood development, and positive parenting.
2. Centre Coordination & Program Monitoring
- Regularly visit all assigned centres to monitor daily operations and service delivery.
- Ensure smooth implementation of ECCE, nutrition, WASH, health, and parent engagement activities.
- Monitor child attendance and coordinate follow-up with caregivers for irregular attendance.
- Support adherence to child safety, hygiene, and operational protocols at the centres.
- Identify implementation challenges and coordinate timely resolution with the Project Officer.
3. Health Camps & Awareness Activities
- Coordinate quarterly health screening camps and referral services.
- Organize community awareness sessions on nutrition, health, hygiene, and child development.
- Facilitate Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and caregiver engagement sessions.
- Coordinate participation of local health professionals, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
4. Monitoring, Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain beneficiary records, attendance registers, activity reports, and centre documentation.
- Collect and compile field data, photographs, case studies, success stories, and testimonials.
- Track project indicators and maintain monitoring records.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Support baseline, periodic monitoring, and end-line assessments.
5. Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate with local authorities, community leaders, health facilities, schools, and partner organizations.
- Support communication between project staff, communities, and management.
- Assist in organizing trainings, workshops, and project events.
- Represent ISRN during community meetings and field-level engagements.
Qualifications
- Graduate in social work, sociology, rural development, education, public health, or any relevant discipline.
- Postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in community development, child-focused programs, education, health, nutrition, or related social sector projects.
- Experience in community mobilization and field coordination preferred.
