About the Organization
ProblemSolvers Lab (PSL) began with a simple idea: all students can engage in deep, higher-order thinking when they have the right environment and the right kind of mathematical experiences.
Across many classrooms in India, students rarely get opportunities to think aloud, explore structure, make conjectures, work with peers, or experience the satisfaction of figuring something out. PSL was created to bring these opportunities into everyday instruction.
Our work is grounded in a few design principles:
- Low-floor, high-ceiling tasks that allow every student to enter and stretch
- Productive struggle, where students test ideas, revise, and persist
- Seeing students as visualizers, experimenters, and problem-solvers, not passive recipients
Everything we do, with teachers and with students, rests on this approach.
About the Fellowship Program
We partner with Public-Private Partnership (PPP) schools like Akanksha and affordable private schools to build teacher skills in conducting effective problem-solving sessions. This year, our fellowship includes 120 teachers who collectively reach about 3,500 students in Grades 3–9.
We work closely with math education professors and practitioners from institutions like NYU, Azim Premji University, and others to strengthen our curriculum and pedagogy.
About the Role
We are hiring a Program Manager to lead the implementation of ProblemSolvers Lab’s teacher fellowship programs across partner organizations. This role focuses on translating our curriculum and pedagogy into strong classroom practice through effective training, coaching, and project management, while working closely with fellows, partners, and the internal PSL team.
