Your Role And Responsibilities
This is a Program Manager role responsible for managing and coordinating DevOps and Platform Engineering deliverables across Cloud and AI platforms, reporting to the Digital Solutions Engineering Manager within the Process Automation business area, located in Bangalore.
You will work closely with DevOps Architects, Platform Engineering teams, Product Delivery, Enterprise Architecture, Security, and Engineering leadership at the Ability Innovation Center (AIC)—ABB’s largest global technology and engineering hub. AIC brings together research, development, engineering, and services under one roof, enabling high collaboration, accelerated innovation, and uncompromised quality.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end delivery of DevOps and platform initiatives ensuring scope, timeline, and quality commitments.
- Track and coordinate DevOps deliverables including CI/CD pipelines, GitOps initiatives, Infrastructure as Code, developer platforms, and observability solutions.
- Define program plans, milestones, dependencies, and risks across multiple engineering teams.
- Ensure alignment between product roadmaps and DevOps execution plans.
- Support Agile, SAFe, or hybrid delivery models across DevOps workstreams.
- Support governance for CI/CD, IaC, GitOps, DevSecOps, and platform tooling adoption.
- Ensure DevOps deliverables align with security, compliance, and enterprise standards.
- Track and report delivery metrics, platform adoption progress, and risks.
- Coordinate with DevOps Architects and engineering leads to manage technical dependencies.
- Act as a coordination point between engineering teams, architects, and leadership.
- Prepare and present program status updates, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Facilitate cross-team discussions to unblock delivery issues.
- Ensure transparency and predictable execution of DevOps initiatives.
- Support rollout and adoption of DevOps, DevSecOps, and platform engineering practices.
- Coordinate communication, enablement, and onboarding activities for new DevOps capabilities.
- Identify adoption risks and support mitigation plans with technical leaders. Identify process gaps and improvement opportunities across DevOps delivery workflows.
- Promote Agile best practices, metrics-driven execution, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to building a culture of collaboration, accountability, and delivery excellence.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 4–8 years of overall experience with 3+ years in Program, Project, or Delivery Management roles.
- Experience supporting or managing DevOps, Cloud, or Platform Engineering initiatives.
- Working understanding of CI/CD, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, cloud platforms, and DevSecOps concepts. Experience working in Agile, SAFe, or hybrid delivery environments.
- Hands-on exposure to program tracking, dependency management, and risk mitigation.
- Familiarity with DevOps delivery metrics and platform adoption indicators.
- Experience coordinating multiple engineering teams and technical workstreams. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to translate technical delivery status into clear business updates.
- Structured and detail-oriented approach to planning and execution.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a matrixed, global organization.Exposure to Platform Engineering or Internal Developer Platform initiatives.
- Experience with tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, GitHub, or similar.
- Prior experience working with DevOps or cloud-native engineering teams.
