About The Role And Team
Leading at Uber means setting direction in motion, not waiting for perfect conditions. As a Program Leader, you will act as a strategic and organizational partner to senior leadership, driving the high-leverage initiatives that keep our global support engine running. You will build high-performing teams in ambiguous environments, making hard calls under pressure and carrying the weight of decisions that define how we support millions of users across the globe.
This is a high-stakes role where you'll need to lead with clarity, build with heart, and thrive in the face of constant challenge. You'll be the "glue" that connects regional needs with global strategies, ensuring our support operations are not just efficient, but innovative. If you are a sharp, steady leader motivated by the chance to shape the future of real-world movement through disciplined execution and strategic vision, this is where you'll make your mark.
What You'll Do
- Own the strategic planning cycle, translating global priorities into regional strategies and measurable OKRs that survive the friction of a fast-moving marketplace.
- Establish the "rhythm of the business" by designing governance frameworks and review cadences (MBRs/QBRs) that move past simple reporting to enforce true accountability and operational health.
- Lead high-leverage scaled innovation projects from 0 to 1, relentlessly identifying Gen-AI and automation opportunities to build support models that don't yet have a playbook.
- Navigate the "messy middle" of organizational dynamics, acting as a master disambiguator between Product, Engineering, and Finance to unblock complex operational problems.
- Build and lead a high-performing team of specialists, fostering a culture of extreme ownership and resilience among people who are energized by solving what's hard.
- Own the messiness of incident response, bridging the gap between Support and Engineering to drive rapid, data-driven resolutions when the stakes are at their highest.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years in project/program management experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Evidence of delivering impact in high-stakes environments with deep program management experience that shows you can drive results under pressure.
- Exceptional analytical rigor-you don't just run numbers; you are a truth-seeker who translates complex findings into a clear strategic narrative for senior leadership.
- A "builder" mindset with a track record of designing frameworks and processes from scratch in ambiguous spaces where there is no existing playbook.
- Exceptional storytelling and influence skills, with the ability to turn messy data into compelling insights that build alignment across diverse functions.
- Deep operational expertise in high-consequence areas like safety leadership, incident management, or customer experience strategy.
- High technical fluency with a "roll up your sleeves" approach to data; you are proficient in SQL, Python, or data visualization tools to investigate problems independently.
- Experience leading at scale, specifically in managing BPO partners or large-scale, multi-site operations where performance and consistency are critical.
- Strong command of execution frameworks such as PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies to drive operational excellence.
Ready to Ride?
This isn't the kind of place where you follow a playbook - it's where you help write one. If you're driven by impact, energized by challenge, and ready to shape how the world moves - we'd love to hear from you.
You may be eligible for bonuses, equity, and other compensation, as well as a range of benefits. Explore our benefits.
