About the Organisation
Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission (SVMM) is a registered charitable trust serving tribal and marginalised rural communities in Attappady and surrounding districts of Kerala. Alongside our hospital and school, we run skill development centres across multiple locations, equipping youth from underserved communities with employable, industry-relevant skills and connecting them to livelihoods. We are looking for a Program Lead to drive the growth and quality of our skill development program.
Role Summary
The Program Lead will be responsible for the overall planning, implementation, and management of SVMM's skill development program across its centres. This includes training centre operations, placement outcomes, program delivery quality, and coordination with funding and affiliating bodies. The role suits a motivated professional who wants to create measurable social impact through skilling and employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end implementation of skill development programs across SVMM's training centres.
- Oversee day-to-day management of training centres, including trainers, infrastructure, batches, and compliance.
- Drive placement assistance and industry linkages to ensure strong post-training employment outcomes for trainees.
- Plan, monitor, and report on program targets, timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
- Coordinate with government schemes, affiliating/certifying bodies, and funding partners as required.
- Support proposal development, documentation, and reporting for program funding and audits.
- Travel regularly to project locations to supervise operations and support field teams.
- Report to the management/trustees on program progress and outcomes.
Requirements
- MBA or MSW.
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in skill development programs.
- Demonstrated experience in training centre management, placement assistance, and program implementation.
- Willingness to travel across multiple project locations.
- Strong coordination, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred (good to have)
- Familiarity with skilling frameworks and funding routes (e.g. NSQF/NCVET, PMKVY, DDU-GKY).
- Experience working with tribal or rural communities or in the NGO/development sector.
- Proficiency in Malayalam alongside English.
