Position Summary
The Programming Head will lead the planning, coordination, execution, and presentation of radio content for Radio Ganesa FM 88.8 CR. The role requires expertise in radio programming, strong on-air presentation skills, understanding of community-oriented broadcasting, and the ability to coordinate effectively with radio presenters and student teams to ensure consistent programme delivery aligned with institutional objectives.
Radio hosting and presentation responsibilities are integral to this role.
Key Responsibilities
1. Programming Strategy & Grid Management
- Plan and implement weekly and monthly programming schedules based on the approved programming chart
- Ensure consistency in content flow across all programmes
- Coordinate with presenters and student teams to ensure timely production and delivery
2. On-Air Presentation & Programme Hosting
- Host and anchor designated radio programmes
- Demonstrate professional voice modulation and presentation standards
- Lead key institutional broadcasts and special programmes
- Set on-air quality benchmarks for student presenters
3. Community-Oriented Programming Oversight
- Ensure that programming reflects the institution’s broader outreach and community engagement commitments
- Maintain alignment with the vision and objectives of Radio Ganesa FM 88.8 CR
- Uphold responsible and ethical broadcasting standards
4. Editorial Oversight
- Review and approve scripts prior to production
- Maintain language quality, clarity, and cultural sensitivity
- Guide presenters and content teams in maintaining programme standards
5. Team Leadership & Training
- Supervise student interns and programme teams
- Conduct structured review meetings
- Mentor presenters and content contributors, especially in radio presentation skills
6. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain programme logs and scheduling records
- Submit periodic reports on programming activities and performance
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mass Communication / Journalism / Media Studies or related field
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in radio programming or community radio
- Proven experience in radio hosting and presentation
- Experience in programme planning and team coordination
- Strong editorial judgment and communication skills
- Familiarity with institutional or community-based media is preferred
