JD : Program & Community Lead : Mudita Alliance | Pune
About Mudita Alliance
Mudita Alliance is a non-profit organisation that supports high-potential students from financially constrained and low-exposure backgrounds to access higher education and build meaningful professional futures. Over the years, Mudita has supported hundreds of students through scholarships and built a strong network of donors, students, and alumni who believe deeply in the organisation’s mission.
Mudita is now entering the next phase of its journey. While scholarships remain the foundation of its work, the organisation is expanding its focus toward building a community and ecosystem that supports students through education and into their early professional journeys. This includes strengthening:
● alumni engagement
● student capability development
● peer networks and belonging
● exposure to professional opportunities
To help operationalise this evolving model, Mudita is seeking a Program & Community Lead who will manage the scholarship program while helping build the student, alumni and supporters’ community around it.
Role Purpose
The Program & Community Lead will oversee Mudita Program/s, co-create the Mudita student and alumni network, and build a support ecosystem for Mudita. This role combines program management, student engagement, alumni coordination, and community building. The individual will work closely with the founders to help translate Mudita’s strategy into a structured and well-run program.
Key Responsibilities
Scholarship Program Management
Oversee and ensure the smooth functioning of the Mudita Scholarship Program by coordinating the annual student selection process, managing scholarship disbursements, tracking student academic progress, maintaining communication with students and families, and keeping program records and documentation up to date.
Student Engagement and Support
Build strong relationships with Mudita scholars through regular check-ins, facilitating interaction across student cohorts, identifying students who may need additional support, and gathering feedback to improve the student experience. The aim is to ensure that students experience Mudita as a supportive community, not just a scholarship provider.
Capability and Exposure Programming
Coordinate opportunities that help students build professional confidence and exposure. These may include alumni career conversations, communication and professional skills workshops, industry exposure sessions, and peer learning discussions. These initiatives will be interest-driven rather than mandatory.
Alumni Network Development
Support the growth of Mudita’s alumni community by maintaining alumni relationships, managing an alumni database, facilitating mentorship between alumni and current scholars, supporting alumni gatherings, and identifying alumni leaders who can help strengthen the network.
Community Building
Help nurture a sense of belonging across the Mudita community by encouraging peer connections, facilitating conversations within the network, sharing student and alumni stories, and coordinating occasional community gatherings. Also help create a strong network of supporters, donors and partner organisations that become lifelong champions for Mudita.
Program Tracking and Impact
Maintain simple systems to track program activity and outcomes, including student academic progress, participation in engagement initiatives, alumni involvement, and early career outcomes. These insights will help strengthen Mudita’s understanding of its impact and improve communication with donors and partners.
Candidate Profile
Mudita is looking for someone who is empathetic, organised, and motivated by meaningful social impact. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with students from diverse backgrounds, capable of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously, and enjoys building relationships and communities that support young people’s growth.
Experience & Qualifications
● 5–8 years of professional experience
● strong communication and relationship-building skills
● experience managing programs or projects
● strong organisational and coordination ability
● comfort using spreadsheets and basic program tracking tools
● experience in education, youth development, or community programs (Preferred)
Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and is expected to be in the range of ₹8–10 lakhs per annum.
