1 Academic Leadership & Teaching- Curriculum Development: Designing and updating BPT (Bachelor) and MPT (Master) curricula to reflect the latest evidence-based practices (e.g., ICU protocols for Cardiorespiratory or biomechanical analysis for Sports).
- Pedagogy: Delivering advanced lectures, conducting clinical demonstrations, and supervising practical labs.
- Mentorship: Guiding Ph.D. scholars and post-graduate students through their dissertations and clinical residencies.
2 Research & Scholarly Activity- Grant Acquisition: Securing funding from national and international health/sports councils.
- Publications: Publishing original research in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals (like JOSPT for Sports or Chest for Cardiorespiratory).
- Innovation: Developing new rehabilitation protocols, such as tele-rehabilitation for COPD patients or return-to-play metrics for ACL injuries.
3 Clinical Supervision- Expert Consultation: Providing "Grand Rounds" or senior-level consultation in the university’s attached hospital or sports clinic.
- Quality Assurance: Ensuring clinical safety standards and ethical practices are met by students and junior staff.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Educational Background: * Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) in the relevant specialty.
- Ph.D. is mandatory .
- Experience: Usually 10+ years of teaching and research experience, with a specific number of years served as an Associate Professor.
- Research Record: A significant portfolio of published work (e.g., minimum 10-15 indexed publications).
- Registration: Active license with the relevant national/state Physiotherapy Council
