Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Professor at Elyra International University. The Professor will design, deliver, and update course content aligned with program and accreditation standards, using digital tools and learning platforms to engage online learners. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lectures and learning materials, facilitating live and asynchronous classes, assessing student performance, and providing timely, constructive feedback. The Professor will advise and mentor students, contribute to curriculum development, and collaborate with academic teams to enhance program quality and learning outcomes. Additional responsibilities may include engaging in scholarly or applied research, participating in academic committees, and supporting initiatives that promote innovation, inclusivity, and global perspectives in teaching and learning.
Qualifications
- Advanced academic qualification (typically a PhD or terminal degree) in a relevant discipline; a master’s degree with significant professional or teaching experience may be considered for some programs.
- Proven experience in higher education teaching, preferably in online or hybrid environments, with the ability to design and deliver engaging, learner-centered courses.
- Strong research or scholarship background, including the ability to conduct, supervise, or apply research aligned with the university’s mission and academic standards.
- Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS), virtual classroom tools, and digital resources to support remote instruction and assessment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to teach and mentor learners from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive, equitable, and learner-focused practices, as well as continuous improvement in pedagogy and curriculum design.
- Ability to manage multiple courses and deadlines, work independently in a remote setting, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional academic and administrative teams.
- Experience with industry partnerships, curriculum aligned to real-world skills, or professional practice in the relevant field is highly desirable.
- Willingness to contribute to academic committees, accreditation activities, program development, and university-wide initiatives that support innovation and global engagement.
