Role Description This full-time on-site role, based in Dehradun, is for Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor positions in Mechanical Engineering. The faculty member will conduct undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching, including delivering lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions aligned with the curriculum and outcome-based education standards. Responsibilities include designing and updating course materials, supervising student projects and internships, mentoring learners, and maintaining high academic quality. The role also involves engaging in research and scholarly activities, contributing to publications and conferences, and supporting accreditation and quality assurance processes. Additional duties include participation in departmental meetings, academic advising, examination and evaluation work, and contribution to institutional development and outreach initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering with knowledge of core areas such as design, manufacturing, thermal engineering, and materials.
- Relevant academic qualifications in Mechanical Engineering (e.g., M.E./M.Tech required; Ph.D. preferred or as per regulatory norms) appropriate to the level of appointment (Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor).
- Demonstrated ability in teaching, curriculum development, and outcome-based education, including effective use of modern teaching-learning methods and educational technologies.
- Research aptitude with a record of publications, conference presentations, or industry-oriented projects; ability to guide student research and projects.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with proficiency in English and the ability to engage diverse learners in a gender-neutral, inclusive classroom.
- Commitment to professional ethics, mentorship, and holistic student development, including fostering employability skills and positive attitudes toward change.
- Familiarity with accreditation processes (NBA/Washington Accord/ABET) and quality assurance frameworks will be an advantage.
- Industry exposure, consultancy experience, or collaboration with professional bodies in mechanical or allied domains is desirable.
