Position Title: Professional- Statutory Compliance HR Executive
Location: Bangalore
Reports To: Assistant Director- HR
Job Summary: Responsible for end-to-end statutory compliance across payroll and HR operations, ensuring adherence to Indian labour laws, timely filings, audit readiness, and risk mitigation. The role will partner with internal HR, Finance, and external vendors to drive compliant and efficient processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Statutory Compliance Management
- Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws:
- EPF, ESI, PT, LWF, Gratuity, Bonus Act, Shops & Establishment Act
- Monitor regulatory changes and implement updates in payroll/processes
- Manage registrations, amendments, and renewals across states
- Payroll Compliance & Governance
- Validate statutory deductions (PF, ESI, TDS, PT, LWF) before payroll closure
- Ensure timely filing and remittance of statutory returns
- Handle payroll audits related to statutory compliance
- Coordinate with payroll vendors
- Compliance Calendar & Tracking
- Maintain and monitor statutory compliance calendar
- Ensure zero delays in filings (monthly/quarterly/annual)
- Track due dates and ensure closure with proper documentation
- Audits & Documentation
- Support and lead:
- Internal audits
- Statutory audits
- Labour inspections
- Maintain compliance documentation, challans, returns, and registers
- Ensure audit readiness with complete documentation
- Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with consultants, legal advisors, and government authorities
- Coordinate with Finance, Payroll, HR Ops teams
- Manage compliance vendors for filings and notices
- Employee Lifecycle Compliance
- Ensure statutory adherence in:
- Onboarding (UAN, ESI registration)
- Exit (full & final settlement compliance, gratuity eligibility)
- Validate statutory payouts during separation process
- SPOC for employee queries, rectifications, updates etc. and liaising with vendor partner on completion of the same.
- Manage statutory helpdesk queries and emails from exit staff on assistance. Execute those activities partnering with the vendor team.
- Risk Management & Process Improvement
- Identify compliance risks and implement controls
- Develop SOPs for statutory processes
- Drive automation and process standardization
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with HR, Finance, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Assist the HR team in Adhoc requirements beyond statutory compliance.
Qualifications:
- MBA / PGDM in HR or equivalent. Additional certifications in labour laws (preferred).
- Minimum 7-8 years of experience in statutory compliance
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws & payroll compliance
- Experience in multi-state compliance handling
- Audit & documentation expertise
- Vendor management skills
- High attention to detail and deadline orientation
- Strong stakeholder management
