Job Description for Assistant Planning Manager
- Create and monitor comprehensive project or operational plans, establishing timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Liaise with internal teams, external consultants, clients, and vendors to align various planning activities.
- Track project progress against baselines, identify deviations, and implement solutions for cost, resource, and time overruns.
- Analyse operational data, market trends, and financial information to support informed decision-making and planning.
- Prepare and present regular project updates, status reports, and documentation to senior management and stakeholders.
- Assist with procurement processes, including managing purchase requisitions, tracking orders, and coordinating site delivery of materials.
- Proactively identify and resolve project issues and roadblocks to ensure timely completion and project success.
- Maintain effective communication with all relevant stakeholders to ensure project alignment and satisfaction.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in developing project schedules, managing project lifecycles, and utilizing project management tools (e.g., Primavera).
- Strong ability to analyze data, interpret financial information, and provide insights for strategic planning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse teams and senior management.
- Exceptional organizational ability and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks and complex documentation.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet software (like Microsoft Excel) and document management systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and lead planning efforts.
