About the Company
TVSMobility Polymeric Products Pvt. Ltd. which is in the Rubber Products’ manufacturing business . Today, TVSMPPPL has two factories, one dedicated to Silicone Hoses, and the other to Organic Rubber Hoses in EPDM, Nitile, PVC-Nitrile, Vamac, Neoprene, etc. The reinforcement fabrics used are Meta-Aramid, Nomex, and Polyester for the Wrapped Hoses; and Aramid and Polyester yarns for the Extruded Hoses.
About the Role
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations in the rubber production unit, ensuring efficient production, quality compliance, safety standards, and optimal use of resources.
Responsibilities
- Production Management
- Supervise daily production activities such as mixing, molding, curing, extrusion, or calendaring.
- Ensure production targets are achieved as per schedule.
- Monitor machine performance and coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
- Optimize manpower utilization on the shop floor.
- Quality Control
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications for rubber products.
- Monitor in-process quality checks and final inspections.
- Identify defects and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Process Improvement
- Analyze production processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and cost reduction.
- Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices (5S, Kaizen).
- Reduce material wastage and improve yield.
- Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and toolbox talks.
- Ensure proper handling of chemicals and rubber compounds.
- Team Management
- Supervise and guide operators, technicians, and helpers.
- Provide training and skill development for workers.
- Manage shift scheduling, attendance, and performance evaluation.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain production reports, shift logs, and downtime records.
- Track KPIs such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), rejection rate, and productivity.
- Coordinate with planning, quality, and supply chain teams.
Qualifications
- Education
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Polymer, or related field.
- Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in rubber manufacturing or a similar process industry.
Required Skills
- Technical Skills
- Knowledge of rubber processing techniques (mixing, vulcanization, molding).
- Familiarity with production planning and control.
- Understanding of quality systems like ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 (preferred for automotive rubber parts).
- Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
