The PPC Engineer is responsible for production planning, material matching, and coordinating with cross-functional departments to ensure smooth production flow and timely delivery. The role involves monitoring material availability, SAP/MRP tracking, and supporting continuous improvement activities in the sheet metal manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer schedules and sales orders.
- Perform material matching activities to ensure raw materials and bought-out items are available as per the production plan.
- Coordinate with Stores, Purchase, Production, and Quality departments to resolve material shortages and production issues.
- Monitor SAP/MRP stock status, pending PRs/POs, and material movement.
- Follow up with suppliers and internal teams to avoid line stoppages and production delays.
- Track production status and update plan vs actual reports.
- Maintain MIS reports related to planning, inventory, shortages, and dispatch schedules.
- Support RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) activities for production and material-related issues.
- Ensure optimum inventory control and minimize excess or shortage of materials.
- Coordinate with the dispatch team to achieve on-time delivery targets.
- Support continuous improvement activities in planning and inventory management.
Qualification:
- Diploma / BE in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering
Experience
- 3–6 years of experience in PPC / Production Planning & Material Matching
- Experience in Sheet Metal Manufacturing industry preferred
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of Production Planning & Control processes
- Experience in SAP systems
- Good understanding of BOM, inventory, and material flow
- Strong coordination and follow-up skills
- Basic knowledge of Excel and MIS reporting
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
