The Production & Operations Manager will be responsible for end-to-end production and procurement management, ensuring seamless coordination between internal teams, vendors, job workers, and suppliers. The role focuses on timely production, cost efficiency, quality adherence, and optimized sourcing strategies.
Key Responsibilities
1. End-to-End Production Management
- Manage complete production lifecycle from sampling to final dispatch
- Ensure adherence to timelines, quality standards, and cost targets
- Monitor production planning vs. actual execution
2. Procurement & Sourcing Management
- Handle fabric, trims, accessories, and raw material sourcing aligned with production plans
- Develop and maintain a reliable supplier base for cost-effective procurement
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms with suppliers
- Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production delays
3. Vendor & Outsourcing Management
- Manage third-party vendors and job workers
- Monitor vendor performance on quality, cost, and delivery
- Drive vendor efficiency improvements and compliance
4. Karigar & Job Worker Network Development
- Build and strengthen karigar and artisan network
5. Inventory & Material Management
- Maintain optimum inventory levels of raw materials and WIP
- Ensure smooth material flow across units and vendors
- Minimize dead stock and excess inventory
6. New Vendor & Supplier Onboarding
- Identify and onboard new vendors and suppliers
- Evaluate supplier capabilities, scalability, and compliance standards
- Build long-term strategic partnerships
7. Cost & Process Optimization
- Drive cost control initiatives across production and procurement
- Reduce wastage and improve material utilization
- Implement process improvements for operational efficiency
8. Quality Assurance
- Ensure adherence to brand quality standards across production stages
- Conduct regular quality checks at vendor and internal levels
9. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate closely with Design, Merchandising, Planning, and Supply Chain teams
- Align procurement and production with business demand and seasonal launches
Qualifications & Experience
- Postgraduate / Graduate (Preferable – MBA)
- 8–12 years of experience in fashion production / garment / retail
- Strong experience in procurement, sourcing, and vendor management
- Experience in ethnic wear preferred
- Strong negotiation, planning, and execution skills
