Role Objective:
The Production Manager will be responsible for managing shop floor operations in a precision tools manufacturing environment. The role focuses on achieving production targets, improving productivity, managing shop floor teams, and ensuring high-quality manufacturing standards in PCD, Carbide, and precision cutting tools production.
Key Responsibilities :
Shop Floor & Production Management
• Manage day-to-day shop floor production activities to meet production targets and delivery schedules.
• Ensure efficient utilization of machines, manpower, and production resources.
• Monitor production performance, cycle times, and machine productivity.
• Ensure smooth workflow across machining, grinding, tool finishing, and inspection operations.
People Management
• Lead and manage shop floor teams including operators, technicians, and supervisors.
• Plan and allocate manpower effectively across production shifts.
• Build strong team discipline, accountability, and performance culture on the shop floor.
• Conduct training and skill development for operators.
Process Improvement
• Implement Lean Manufacturing practices such as 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify bottlenecks and improve production efficiency.
• Drive initiatives to reduce rejection, rework, and machine downtime.
Quality & Compliance
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and manufacturing specifications.
• Work with the quality team for root cause analysis and CAPA implementation.
• Maintain compliance with ISO standards and internal quality procedures.
Productivity & Cost Optimization
• Monitor production KPIs including machine utilization, productivity, rejection rate, and output.
• Implement process improvements to reduce production costs and improve efficiency.
Cross Functional Coordination
• Work closely with planning, quality, procurement, and maintenance teams.
• Ensure availability of raw materials, inserts, and consumables for uninterrupted production.
• Support new product trials and production ramp-up activities.

Mandatory Industry Experience Candidates must have experience in:
• PCD (Polycrystalline Diamond) Tools Manufacturing
• Carbide Cutting Tools Manufacturing
• Precision Tool Manufacturing Examples: • End Mills • Drills • Inserts • Reamers • Special Cutting Tools
Ideal Candidate Profile
• 8–13 years’ experience in PCD, Carbide, or Precision Cutting Tools Manufacturing
• Strong hands-on shop floor experience
• Proven track record of managing production teams
• Experience in CNC machining, grinding, and tool manufacturing processes
• Strong leadership and problem-solving ability
