Role Description The Production Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based in Sikkim, India. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day production activities, including planning and scheduling batches, monitoring manufacturing processes, and ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The Production Manager will coordinate with procurement, quality assurance, maintenance, and warehouse teams to maintain uninterrupted production and optimal resource utilization. Key responsibilities include supervising production staff, managing shift operations, resolving process issues, and implementing improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste. The role also involves maintaining accurate production records, supporting audits, training team members on standard operating procedures, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong production management skills, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating manufacturing activities.
- Knowledge of biotech or pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, GMP standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience leading and supervising production teams, including performance management, training, and shift oversight.
- Ability to analyze production data, identify process bottlenecks, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in documenting production activities, maintaining SOPs, and supporting internal and external audits.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams such as QA, maintenance, and supply chain.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety and product quality.
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; relevant industry experience in production management is highly advantageous.
- Ability to work on-site in Sikkim, India, with flexibility for shift-based operations if required.
