The company manufactures a comprehensive range of coconut-derived products, including cold-pressed coconut oil, coconut milk, coconut cream, desiccated coconut, coconut flour, and coconut sugar, serving retail, modern trade, quick-commerce, and institutional channels across India.
Position Overview
We seek an experienced Production Manager with a proven track record in edible oil, food processing, or FMCG manufacturing to lead comprehensive production operations at our state-of-the-art Chennai facility. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of production planning, execution, and optimization while ensuring strict compliance with food safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct all phases of the production process for coconut based food and FMCG products from planning through execution
- Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules aligned with sales forecasts and market demand
- Forecast raw material requirements and coordinate with procurement and warehouse functions to maintain uninterrupted production flow
- Monitor production targets, machine utilization rates, waste control, and operational efficiency metrics
- Ensure consistent adherence to food safety standards, hygiene protocols, standard operating procedures, and quality compliance requirements
- Supervise shop-floor operations, coordinate shift scheduling, and optimize manpower allocation
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to maximize equipment uptime and ensure seamless production operations
- Prepare comprehensive daily production reports, management information systems (MIS) reports, output analyses, and operational dashboards
- Track inventory consumption, production losses, batch records, and dispatch readiness
- Partner with sales and supply chain teams to align production strategy with market demand and delivery commitments
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce downtime, and optimize operational costs
- Maintain full compliance with FSSAI, ISO, and internal manufacturing standards
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in edible oil, food processing, or FMCG manufacturing environments
- Prior experience with edible oil, coconut-based products, or food manufacturing preferred
- Strong expertise in production planning, demand forecasting, inventory management, and factory operations
- Demonstrated ability to manage complete production processes independently
- Comprehensive knowledge of food manufacturing compliance requirements, quality standards, and hygiene best practices
- Proven experience in managing workforce, shift operations, and production reporting
- Proficiency in MS Excel and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Excellent coordination, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Location: Chennai-based or willing to work from Chennai on a daily basis
- Industry Background: Edible oil manufacturing, food processing, FMCG manufacturing, coconut-based products, or agro-processing
