Role: Production Manager – Leather Jackets

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Production Manager to lead end-to-end manufacturing operations for our Leather Jackets division. The role requires strong technical expertise in leather garment production, large-scale factory operations management, productivity improvement, and people leadership.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in managing high-volume leather jacket manufacturing units with strong exposure to industrial engineering, production planning, quality systems, and delivery management for international customers.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations Management
- Lead complete production operations for leather jackets across cutting, stitching, finishing, washing, and packing processes
- Ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets in line with shipment plans
- Drive production efficiency, line balancing, and capacity utilization across the factory
- Monitor productivity, absenteeism, DHU, rejection levels, and overall operational performance
Factory & Workforce Management
- Manage large production teams including supervisors, line leaders, mechanics, and operators
- Handle operations of a 300+ machine manufacturing setup
- Ensure optimum manpower deployment and workforce discipline on the shop floor
- Develop second-line leadership and create a high-performance manufacturing culture
Industrial Engineering & Productivity
- Work closely with IE teams for SMV improvements, layout optimization, and bottleneck reduction
- Implement lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement practices
- Drive efficiency enhancement programs to improve output and reduce operational losses
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to buyer quality standards and internal quality systems
- Minimize rework, alteration, and rejection percentages through strong process controls
- Coordinate with QA teams to ensure right-first-time production
- Ensure compliance with safety, audit, and factory compliance standards
Planning & Delivery Management
- Coordinate with merchandising, planning, warehouse, and quality teams for smooth execution of orders
- Ensure on-time order execution and shipment adherence
- Monitor WIP movement and proactively address production risks or delays
Technical & Process Excellence
- Support product feasibility discussions and pre-production planning
- Review machine requirements, attachments, and process capabilities for new styles
- Drive process standardization and best manufacturing practices across lines
Requirement:
- 12+ years of experience in handling leather jacket manufacturing is must
- Candidate should be a Graduate / Diploma holder in Leather Technology / NIFT
- Should have handled a minimum 300+ machine manufacturing unit
- Strong exposure to production planning, line balancing, quality, and productivity improvement
- Should be capable of managing large workforce and achieving production targets within timelines
- Candidate should be ready to relocate to Bangalore
