Job Title:- Production Lead (Onsite - Hyderabad)
Job Summary:-
We are seeking a high-ownership, battle-tested Production Lead to take complete end-to-end accountability for our manufacturing and production ecosystem. In this role, you will not just coordinate production activities—you will own the entire production lifecycle, from PCB fabrication and Box Build assembly to final product integration and deployment.
As a critical bridge between internal teams and external partners, you will work closely with Hardware, Firmware, Procurement, Quality, and Delivery teams while effectively managing EMS and mechanical vendors. Core Pillars of the Role:-
1. High-Ownership Production Execution
● End-to-End Ownership: Direct daily production activities for complex PCB
assemblies (PCBA), mechanical Box Builds, and final system integration.
● Scale Operations: Drive mass production schedules to meet strict delivery
commitments, ensuring optimized throughput and zero idle time.
● WIP & Bottleneck Management: Ruthlessly track Work-in-Progress (WIP) across
all production stages, proactively identifying and resolving operational bottlenecks.
● Resource Allocation: Optimize manpower, line balancing, and daily execution
timelines to maximize efficiency.
2. Strategic Vendor & EMS Management
● EMS Partner Governance: Act as the primary operational interface for
Tier-1/Tier-2 EMS vendors, fabrication partners, and mechanical component
suppliers.
● Accountability & Delivery: Aggressively follow up on production status, material
readiness, dispatch schedules, and yield rates.
● Issue Resolution: Lead the charge on vendor-side reworks, engineering updates,
and corrective actions (CAPA) to minimize downtime.
3. Cross-Functional Material & BOM Guarding
● BOM Integrity: Partner with R&D and Engineering to verify complex Bills of
Materials (BOMs), ensuring correct component values, part numbers, and revisions
prior to production release.
● Supply Chain Synergy: Work closely with Procurement and Stores to ensure
seamless material kitting, manage critical component shortages, and source viable
alternatives/substitutions.
● Engineering Change Management: Seamlessly implement Engineering Change
Notices (ECN) on live production lines without disrupting timelines.
4. Quality & Process Excellence
● Root Cause Analysis: Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) teams to analyze
defect trends, drive root-cause analysis for rejections, and implement preventive
measures.
● Traceability: Establish and maintain airtight production records, component
traceability documentation, and batch histories.
● Continuous Improvement: Champion Lean or Six Sigma principles to improve
production tracking, reporting, and overall operational efficiency.
5. Team Leadership & Culture
● Lead from the Front: Mentor, supervise, and elevate a dedicated team of production
coordinators and technicians.
● Process Discipline: Foster a culture of extreme ownership, strict process
compliance, and transparent communication across the shop floor.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Must-Have Criteria (Non-Negotiable)
● Proven Scale Experience: Personally led and deployed the mass production of
more than 50K+ IoT or smart electronic devices into the market.
● Hardware Expertise: Deep, hands-on understanding of multi-layer SMT processes,
Box Build assembly, wave soldering, and ICT/FCT testing methodologies.
● Vendor Mastery: Proven track record of managing external EMS partners and
mechanical/cable assembly vendors under tight deadlines.
● Cross-Functional Leadership: Demonstrated ability to rally R&D, Quality, and
Supply Chain teams around shared production targets.
Experience:- 4–8 years of hands-on experience in electronics manufacturing or operations, preferably within an IoT company, hardware startup, or high-growth EMS environment.
● Education: BE / B.Tech / Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, ECE, Instrumentation, or
Production Engineering.
Tech Stack & Skills
● Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, ERPNext, Odoo, or similar) for WIP and
inventory tracking.
● Strong mastery of MS Excel/Data Analytics for production reporting and KPI
tracking.
● Deep familiarity with engineering drawings, schematic review, and revision control
software.
Preferred (Good to Have)
● Experience handling New Product Introduction (NPI) cycles and transitioning
prototypes to mass production.
● Familiarity with global quality standards (ISO 9001, IPC-A-610 certification).
Key Metrics for Success (KPIs)
● OTIF: On-Time, In-Full production delivery against schedules.
● First Pass Yield (FPY): Optimization of manufacturing quality and minimization of
scrap/rework.
● BOM Accuracy & Material Readiness: Zero line stoppages due to unvetted
component shortages or revision mismatches.
