Role Description The Production Incharge role at Sky Fast is a full-time, on-site position based in Coimbatore. The Production Incharge oversees day-to-day shop floor operations, including planning, scheduling, and monitoring production activities for air cylinders, air line valves, and air preparation units. Responsibilities include coordinating manpower, materials, and machines to meet daily and weekly targets, while ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality specifications. The role involves tracking production metrics, resolving bottlenecks, and collaborating with maintenance, quality, and stores teams to minimize downtime. The Production Incharge is also expected to update production records, support process improvements, train team members on work instructions, and report performance and issues to management.
Qualifications
- Strong production planning and coordination skills, including line balancing, resource allocation, and shift management.
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, preferably in pneumatics or mechanical components (air cylinders, valves, or similar products).
- Knowledge of quality control practices, basic measurements, and adherence to standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
- Ability to monitor and interpret production data, track output and rework, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency.
- Effective team leadership, including the ability to guide operators, assign tasks, and maintain a disciplined, safe work environment.
- Basic familiarity with inventory coordination, material handling, and collaboration with procurement and stores teams.
- Proficiency with basic computer tools (e.g., MS Excel or production reporting systems) for recording and reporting daily production.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering (or a related discipline), or equivalent practical experience in manufacturing supervision.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and meeting deadlines.
- Prior experience in a factory or shop-floor supervisory role is highly preferred; exposure to lean manufacturing or 5S is an advantage.
