Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Production Engineering & Process Improvement (PEPI) professional based in Pallavaram. The role involves transition of R&D developed products to production team with complete documentation. The major job description for the role is given below:
1) Interact with R&D team and understand the CTQ/ CTF of new parts.
2) Identify/ develop the right process & supplier for manufacturing the part.
3) Prepare target cost estimate for machined/ sheet metal/ molded parts.
4) Coordinate with supplier and get parts for pilot-lot and ramp-up phases.
5) Design & develop jigs & fixtures to scale-up production and improve FPY.
6) Do supplier audits with QC team & ensure right process is followed for production.
7) Address technical queries from production and QC to improve product quality.
8) Review the assets like tools, jigs & fixtures and ensure proper maintenance.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Production Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering, with experience in a shop-floor or plant environment and vendor development.
- Demonstrated Analytical Skills, including data interpretation, root cause analysis, and use of basic statistical tools for process improvement.
- Effective Communication skills for cross-functional collaboration, documentation, and clear reporting to stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering (or a closely related field).
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement frameworks; exposure to medical device or regulated manufacturing is an advantage.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, follow quality standards, and work systematically with attention to detail and safety.
- Proficiency with MS Office, SAP (or any ERP / production management systems); willingness to learn new digital tools.
