P.R. Engineering Works — a six-decade legacy manufacturer of High Voltage Isolators — is looking for a Mechanical Production Engineer who takes complete ownership of the shop floor at its Howrah factory. (Check Website for more info: www.prew.co.in)
Bengali Speaking located in and around Kolkata/Howrah is mandatory, HV Isolator manufacturing Experience preferred. Only for candidates looking for a serious career oriented opportunity around Kolkata.
This is not a supervisory position in the conventional sense. It is a production ownership role for your career growth & companies scale. You will be the single accountable person for translating the company’s quarterly manufacturing output into weekly targets, daily task plans, and actual measurable output. You will manage people, metal, machines, and methods — simultaneously, with discipline.
You are required to upgrade technical capability of the team beneath you — through on-job training across every step of the metal fabrication process. You will required to read CAD drawings & part drawings to give clear instructions, guidance of conducting the job and check adoption of instructions for ensuring quality output at each step.
→ Core Rhythm: Quarterly goals → Weekly targets → Daily execution.
→ This role is both a production manager and a hands-on technical trainer.
→ You co-define targets with management and measure outcomes, not activity.
Your role demands factory presence at 8:30AM sharp to ensure hygiene standards of your team followed by productivity. Your preparation on previous day with work allocation based on the jobs, skills and speed of the technicians- will allow to start the day with brief meeting & instructions for the technicians.
While your team executes the jobs, you will be around checking the the process followed which ensures zero deviation and loss of time. At the end of each job, you will need to make a note of the production progress & perform quality checks to measure output yourself.
These output results will define your and the team's performance also link growth of the career in the organization accordingly.
