About The Role
The Engineer – Production is responsible for the technical execution and monitoring of the manufacturing line. This role ensures that production targets are achieved through efficient machine utilization, adherence to technical drawings, and strict quality control on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Execution: Execute the daily production plan as assigned by the senior management, ensuring that sensors, heaters, or cables are manufactured according to schedule.
- Technical Monitoring: Closely monitor the assembly and calibration processes, ensuring that all technical parameters (temperature ratings, resistance, insulation) are within tolerance limits.
- Workforce Coordination: Supervise the activities of operators and technicians, providing them with the necessary technical guidance to complete assembly tasks accurately.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct first-piece inspections and routine checks during the production cycle to prevent the mass manufacture of defective components.
- Material Requisition: Coordinate with the stores department to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and components required for the production batch.
- Machine Upkeep: Perform basic troubleshooting of production equipment and ensure that machines are operated within their safety and performance limits.
- 5S & Shop Floor Discipline: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace by implementing 5S practices and ensuring all safety protocols are followed by the team.
- Data Documentation: Accurately record production data, rejection counts, and shift outputs in the daily logbooks or ERP system.
Candidate Profile
- Professional Experience: 2–5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing role, ideally within the instrumentation or electrical engineering sector.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and BOMs (Bill of Materials).
- Operational Knowledge: Familiarity with soldering, basic electrical testing, and the handling of precision measurement tools (multimeters, vernier calipers).
- Problem-Solving: Capability to identify minor technical glitches on the production line and resolve them promptly to avoid delays.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.E./B.Tech) or Diploma in Mechanical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
