🔍Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Production Engineer to oversee end-to-end battery manufacturing operations, including laser welding processes and automatic production lines. The role requires strong expertise in EV, MHE, and ESS battery production, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency across manufacturing operations.
👷♂️Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Operations Management
· Lead day-to-day manufacturing activities for battery pack/module assembly.
· Manage automatic production lines to ensure optimal throughput and minimal downtime.
· Oversee production planning and ensure achievement of daily/monthly output targets.
· Monitor line balancing, cycle time, and OEE improvements.
2. Laser Welding & Process Control
· Supervise laser welding operations.
· Ensure welding quality parameters (penetration, strength, consistency) meet technical standards.
· Coordinate with machine supplier for machine calibration and preventive maintenance.
· Drive continuous improvement in welding efficiency and defect reduction.
3. EV / MHE / ESS Battery Production
· Oversee manufacturing of lithium-ion battery packs for EV, MHE (Material Handling Equipment), and ESS (Energy Storage Systems).
· Ensure adherence to design specifications, safety standards, and testing protocols.
· Collaborate with R&D and Quality teams for product improvements and new product
introduction (NPI).
4. Quality & Safety Compliance
· Ensure compliance with quality standards and SOPs.
· Reduce rejection rates, rework, and field failures.
· Implement EHS practices specific to lithium battery handling.
· Ensure 5S and lean manufacturing practices on the shop floor.
5. Team Management
· Lead and develop production supervisors and operators.
· Conduct skill development and technical training programs.
· Drive performance management and productivity improvement initiatives.
🎯Required Skills & Qualifications:
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
4-7+ years of production experience in battery manufacturing.
Minimum 3–5 years in Lithium battery production.
Hands-on experience in laser welding machines and automated assembly lines.
Strong exposure to EV, MHE, and ESS battery production.
Laser welding process control
Automatic production line management
Lithium-ion battery pack assembly
Lean manufacturing & 5S
Production planning & capacity optimization
Team leadership & manpower management
Root cause analysis & continuous improvement.
Preferred
Knowledge of BMS integration processes.
Experience in scaling up new Production lines.
