Role Description The Production Engineer – Structure will oversee day-to-day structural fabrication and erection activities, ensuring projects are executed safely, on time, and to required quality standards. This full-time, on-site role based in Dahej involves planning and supervising steel structure and module fabrication, coordinating with fabrication teams, contractors, and site supervisors, and monitoring resource utilization. Responsibilities include reviewing drawings and technical specifications, preparing production schedules, tracking progress, resolving fabrication and erection issues, and supporting shutdown and maintenance activities as needed. The role also requires enforcing safety procedures, conducting inspections, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with project engineers and clients to align production activities with overall project goals.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong structural fabrication and erection skills, including experience with steel structures, structural modules, and industrial equipment installation.
- Candidates should possess skills in production planning and control, such as scheduling, resource allocation, progress tracking, and workflow optimization for fabrication shops and sites.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documents, including structural layouts, fabrication details, and material specifications.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of safety standards and quality control practices relevant to structural fabrication, erection, lifting operations, and site supervision.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and coordination skills to work with supervisors, technicians, contractors, and client representatives on site.
- Candidates should possess problem-solving and decision-making skills to address production issues, technical challenges, and project constraints in a timely manner.
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering (or a related discipline) is preferred, along with prior experience in industrial fabrication or construction environments.
- Familiarity with Dahej industrial area operations, shutdown activities, and operation & maintenance support will be an added advantage.
