Role Description The Production Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Ludhiana. This position is responsible for developing and refining product designs, creating detailed engineering drawings, and preparing specifications for manufacturing. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate concepts into manufacturable designs, performing design reviews, and coordinating with production to resolve engineering issues on the shop floor. The engineer will optimize designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability, support prototype builds and testing, and implement design changes based on test data and feedback. The role also involves maintaining design documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and continuously improving design and production processes.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Design Engineering and Product Design skills, with the ability to turn functional requirements into robust, manufacturable solutions.
- Candidates should possess Mechanical Engineering expertise, including knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, tolerance analysis, and mechanical systems.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 2D drafting and 3D modeling, and experience creating detailed engineering drawings and assemblies.
- Candidates should possess foundational Electrical Engineering knowledge sufficient to collaborate on products involving electromechanical components.
- Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline, along with experience in product development or industrial manufacturing.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include experience with design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), engineering change management, and familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively on-site with multidisciplinary teams are essential.
