About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated Production & Assembly Supervisor to lead our production and assembly operations for robotic solar panel cleaning systems.
This is a hands-on manufacturing role requiring the candidate to supervise production technicians while actively participating in assembly, quality inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and process improvement activities.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working on the shop floor, ensuring production targets are achieved without compromising quality or safety.
Key Responsibilities
Production planning and Supervision:
- Supervise the day-to-day production and assembly activities.
- Allocate daily production targets and monitor progress.
- Ensure production schedules are achieved within planned timelines.
- Coordinate with Purchase, Stores, Design, and Project teams for smooth production flow.
- Monitor material availability before starting production.
Assembly & Manufacturing:-
- Supervise mechanical and electrical assembly of robotic cleaning systems.
- Personally participate in critical assembly activities whenever required.
- Ensure proper assembly techniques, fastening, wiring, and routing practices.
- Verify assemblies against engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Ensure all manufactured systems meet design specifications.
Production Quality:-
- Conduct in-process quality inspections.
- Verify dimensional accuracy and assembly quality.
- Ensure all quality checklists are completed before dispatch.
- Identify production defects and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with the Quality team for inspection and testing.
Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement:-
- Diagnose manufacturing and assembly issues.
- Resolve production bottlenecks.
- Suggest improvements in assembly methods and manufacturing processes.
- Coordinate with Design and R&D teams to improve manufacturability.
- Participate in new product development and prototype builds.
Team Leadership:-
- Lead production technicians and assembly operators.
- Allocate work based on skills and production priorities.
- Train new technicians on assembly procedures and safety practices.
- Monitor productivity and workmanship.
- Maintain discipline and a positive work culture on the shop floor.
Inventory & Material Management:-
- Coordinate with Stores for timely availability of materials.
- Verify material consumption during production.
- Minimize wastage and improve material utilization.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of components.
- Report shortages and damaged materials promptly.
Safety & Housekeeping:-
- Ensure compliance with PPE and shop-floor safety practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized production area.
- Conduct daily safety briefings where required.
- Ensure safe usage of tools, machines, and lifting equipment.
- Promote 5S and good housekeeping practices.
Reporting & Documentation:-
- Maintain daily production reports.
- Record production output and assembly status.
- Update work orders and production trackers.
- Maintain quality inspection records.
- Report production delays and corrective actions.
- Coordinate dispatch readiness with the Projects team.
Qualification:-
- Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in: Mechanical Engineering/Production Engineering/Industrial Engineering/Mechatronics/Manufacturing Engineering/Electrical Engineering Or related disciplines
- 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing or production supervision.
Experience in one or more of the following industries will be preferred:
- Robotics | Industrial Automation | Machinery Manufacturing | Capital Equipment | Automotive | Sheet Metal Fabrication | Electro-Mechanical Assembly
Skills Required
Technical Skills:-
- Strong understanding of mechanical assembly.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of production processes.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
- Understanding of mechanical fasteners, tolerances, and assemblies.
- Basic electrical assembly knowledge.
- Familiarity with ERP or production tracking systems is desirable.
Soft Skills:-
- Strong leadership skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational ability.
- Practical problem-solving mindset.
- Good communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- High level of ownership and accountability.
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys building products rather than merely supervising people.

- Planning the day's production schedule in the morning.
- Assisting technicians in solving a difficult assembly issue.
- Inspecting finished robots before dispatch.
- Coordinating with procurement for pending materials.
- Preparing the day's production report before leaving.
