Long Description
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Requirements & Analysis: Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements. Translate them into user stories, acceptance criteria (Gherkin), process flows, and functional specs.
- Collaboration with Tech & Devs: Partner with Tech Leads and Developers on design discussions, API contracts, and integration flows. Read & validate API specs and clarify functional ambiguities during sprints.
- Payments Domain Expertise: Bring deep expertise on payment lifecycle flows – Authorization, Capture, Refund, Reversal, Chargeback, Settlement, Reconciliation, Acquiring, Acceptance and Disputes.
- Journey & Process Analysis: Conduct AS-IS / TO-BE analysis of merchant journeys (Onboarding, Transactions, Refunds, Reconciliation), identifying gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Backlog & Sprint Support: Partner with the Product Manager on backlog grooming, refinement, and sprint planning; support prioritization decisions with impact analysis. Participate actively in all Agile ceremonies.
- Quality & Delivery: Define and execute functional test scenarios, support UAT, and validate delivered features against acceptance criteria.
- Cross-Team Alignment: Align with cross-functional teams on functional dependencies and integration touchpoints. Analyze Salesforce tickets and merchant feedback to feed insights into the backlog.
- Documentation: Maintain crisp, up-to-date BRDs, FRDs, journey maps, and API touchpoints in Confluence.
Who Are We Looking For
- 6+ years of Business Analyst experience, with at least 4+ years in Payments / FinTech / Acquiring / Banking.
- Strong knowledge of Payment Services across multiple payment methods, including:
- Card Payments ( Acquiring, Authorization, Capture, Settlement, Refunds, Reversals, Chargebacks, and Disputes ) , Digital Wallets , In-Store / POS Payments , ACH .
- Solid understanding of payment lifecycle flows end-to-end – Authorization → Capture → Settlement → Reconciliation → Disputes.
- Familiarity with industry standards & regulations: 3DS 2.x, Tokenization, PCI-DSS, GDPR.
- Knowledge of card schemes (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover) and their operational rules.
- Proven ability to collaborate with Tech Leads and Developers as a peer — comfortable in design reviews, architecture discussions, and API conversations.
- Hands-on experience with API analysis , validating REST/JSON payloads, using Postman.
- Strong understanding of integration patterns, microservices, webhooks, and asynchronous flows.
- Solid experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with tools like JIRA, Confluence, Figma, Lucidchart, Miro.
- Ability to write clear, unambiguous user stories with strong acceptance criteria in Gherkin (Given/When/Then) format.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and analytical skills with a pragmatic, solution-driven mindset.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Merchant Portals, SaaS, or B2B payment platforms.
- Familiarity with white-label / multi-tenant architectures.
- Exposure to omnichannel payments (online + in-store + mobile) and unified commerce experiences.
- Experience with European payment markets
