Role Overview
We are looking for a Product Owner / Product Manager who can take business and product requirements and convert them into clear, detailed, and actionable specifications for our design and engineering teams.
This person will be responsible for understanding the requirement, documenting how the feature should work, creating process flows and UML diagrams where needed, working closely with the UI/UX designer to finalize designs, and coordinating with engineers during development. The role also includes testing and validating the completed feature to make sure it is developed according to the original requirement.
This is a hands-on product role that requires strong analytical thinking, clear communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with business, design, development, and QA teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand business requirements, customer needs, and internal product goals.
- Convert high-level requirements into detailed product specifications.
- Create clear documentation explaining how each feature should work.
- Prepare user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and functional requirements.
- Create UML diagrams, process flows, screen flows, and logic diagrams where needed.
- Work with UI/UX designers to explain the requirement and help finalize the design.
- Review designs to make sure they match the expected workflow and requirement.
- Work with engineers to explain the feature behavior, edge cases, validations, and expected outcomes.
- Answer questions from the engineering team during development.
- Coordinate with QA or perform product-level testing to confirm the feature works as expected.
- Validate that the final developed feature matches the documented requirement and approved design.
- Identify gaps, missing scenarios, workflow issues, or usability concerns before and after development.
- Maintain product documentation and keep requirements updated when changes are made.
- Prioritize tasks and work with leadership to align feature development with product goals.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of software product development.
- Ability to convert business requirements into clear functional requirements.
- Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and product requirement documents.
- Ability to create UML diagrams, workflow diagrams, and process flows.
- Strong communication skills to work with designers, developers, QA, and business teams.
- Good understanding of UI/UX workflows and user-friendly software design.
- Ability to think through edge cases, validations, user permissions, and system behavior.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to test features and confirm that they match the requirement.
- Ability to manage multiple features and priorities at the same time.
- Comfortable working in an Agile development environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with SaaS products, healthcare software, EHR, practice management, billing, or patient engagement platforms.
- Experience working with tools such as Jira, ClickUp, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Figma, Lucidchart, Draw.io, or similar tools.
- Basic understanding of databases, APIs, integrations, and system workflows.
- Experience working with AI-enabled software features is a plus.
- Experience working with remote or distributed engineering teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Healthcare IT, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role.
- Prior experience in a software product company is preferred.
- Healthcare technology experience is a strong plus.
