We are looking for an experienced Product Owner / Product Manager with strong hands-on experience in Commercial Lending, preferably within the UK lending market. The ideal candidate should have deep knowledge of commercial/specialist lending products, strong end-to-end product ownership experience, and exposure to AI/GenAI-enabled product development.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive the product roadmap for commercial/specialist lending products.
- Work closely with business, credit, risk, operations, technology, and other stakeholders to define product requirements.
- Lead end-to-end product development from discovery and requirement definition through launch and continuous enhancement.
- Translate business requirements into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritized product backlogs.
- Drive improvements across lending journeys such as origination, underwriting, credit decisioning, servicing, collateral, and loan management.
- Identify and implement opportunities to leverage AI/GenAI, automation, and data-driven decisioning within lending products.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to deliver scalable, customer-focused solutions.
- Ensure products align with relevant UK lending and regulatory requirements.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong experience as a Product Owner / Product Manager.
- Hands-on experience in Commercial Lending.
- Experience working on end-to-end lending products/platforms.
- Strong understanding of lending processes such as Loan Origination, Credit Assessment, Underwriting, Credit Decisioning, Collateral, Loan Servicing, and Loan Management.
- Strong product-building experience including roadmap ownership, backlog management, stakeholder management, and Agile delivery.
- Experience working with cross-functional technology and business teams.
Highly Preferred
- Hands-on experience in UK Commercial Lending / Specialist Lending.
- Exposure to products such as SME Lending, Business Lending, Commercial Mortgages, Bridging Finance, Development Finance, Asset Finance, Property Finance, or Buy-to-Let.
- Experience with AI, Generative AI, Machine Learning, intelligent underwriting, credit scoring, automation, or AI-driven lending solutions.
- Experience with LOS/LMS or digital lending platforms.
Ideal Profile
Someone who combines strong commercial lending domain expertise with genuine product ownership, understands the UK specialist lending ecosystem, and has experience building or enhancing modern products using AI and automation.
