Role Overview
The Markets Portal Product Owner is responsible for
end‑to‑end ownership of the Markets Portal platform, a client‑facing FX application that enables trade execution, confirmations, administration, entitlements, and downstream integrations across the FX ecosystem. This role requires a
hands‑on Product Owner who can independently prioritize work, drive delivery, and partner closely with Trading, Operations, Risk, and Technology teams in a
highly regulated, high‑availability environment.
The ideal candidate brings strong FX markets or payments domain knowledge, disciplined backlog ownership, and the ability to
drive execution with minimal oversight while balancing business value, operational risk, and platform stability.
Key Responsibilities
Product Ownership & Delivery
- Own and manage the Markets Portal product backlog end‑to‑end, from requirements through delivery.
- Independently prioritize work based on business value, regulatory impact, operational risk, and platform health.
- Translate business needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria suitable for development and testing.
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for scope, sequencing, and delivery outcomes.
Markets & FX Domain Partnership
- Support FX Markets workflows including trade entry, confirmations, settlements readiness, and administrative configuration.
- Partner closely with Trading, Operations, Client Services, Risk, and Technology stakeholders to align solutions to business needs.
- Ensure product changes support both client‑facing experience and internal operational processes.
Platform & Integration Ownership
- Own integrations between Markets Portal and downstream systems (e.g., confirmations, settlements, payments, risk, reporting).
- Ensure platform designs favor configurability, reuse, and consistency over one‑off solutions.
- Proactively identify and manage cross‑team dependencies, risks, and sequencing constraints.
Execution Leadership
- Drive delivery through ambiguity and changing priorities.
- Make timely decisions to unblock teams rather than relying on escalation.
- Actively participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.
- Own release readiness, including operational validation and stakeholder communication.
Risk, Controls & Compliance
- Ensure product changes meet regulatory, audit, and security expectations.
- Balance delivery speed with appropriate controls, transparency, and operational resilience.
- Partner with Risk and Compliance teams to address concerns early in the delivery lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience (6yrs+) as a Product Owner in an enterprise technology environment.
- Strong understanding of FX markets, trading workflows, or post‑trade processes.
- Demonstrates ability maintain backlog in Jira.
- Demonstrated ability to independently prioritize and manage a complex backlog.
- Experience working in regulated financial services environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and business audiences.
- Comfort working with modern platforms, APIs, and system integrations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with FX Client Facing Portal, FX client platforms, or similar trading applications.
- Knowledge of FX settlements, confirmations, CLS workflows, or payments.
- Familiarity with ISO 20022 or financial message standards.
- Strong technical and data fluency (e.g., understanding APIs, message flows, reconciliation impacts).
- Experience partnering closely with Operations and Client Services teams.
