About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Product Owner with strong technical understanding of Cloud Platforms, Microsoft Azure, Databricks, DevOps, and Terraform to drive the vision, roadmap, and delivery of our data and technology platform.
The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business stakeholders, product teams, data engineers, cloud engineers, DevOps, and development teams. You will own the product backlog, define requirements, prioritize features, and ensure successful delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable platform capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the product vision, roadmap, backlog, and release plans for the technology/data platform.
- Translate business and technical requirements into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and actionable requirements.
- Prioritize the product backlog based on business value, technical dependencies, risk, and customer impact.
- Work closely with Azure Cloud, Databricks, DevOps, Data Engineering, Architecture, Security, and QA teams.
- Define requirements for cloud-based data platforms, analytics capabilities, integrations, and platform services.
- Understand and contribute to Azure architecture and cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, identity, security, and monitoring.
- Work with engineering teams to deliver Databricks-based data and analytics solutions.
- Drive adoption of CI/CD, DevOps practices, automation, infrastructure as code, and platform engineering.
- Understand and manage requirements around Terraform-based infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
- Identify technical dependencies, risks, constraints, and opportunities and incorporate them into roadmap planning.
- Coordinate sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, demos, and release planning with Agile teams.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-effective.
- Define and monitor product KPIs, platform adoption, delivery metrics, reliability, and business outcomes.
- Communicate roadmap, priorities, delivery status, risks, and dependencies to senior stakeholders.
- Support incident/problem management by helping prioritize platform improvements and technical debt.
- Ensure appropriate documentation of product requirements, platform capabilities, and operational processes.

Strong understanding of Azure cloud technologies, including:

- Azure Functions
- Azure Monitor / Log Analytics
- Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD
- Azure networking and security fundamentals
- Azure resource management and governance
Databricks
- Good understanding of Azure Databricks architecture and capabilities.
- Understanding of data engineering and analytics workloads.
- Familiarity with Delta Lake, Spark, notebooks, workflows/jobs, clusters, and data pipelines.
- Understanding of Databricks security, access control, and workspace concepts.
- Experience working with data engineers and analytics teams to define Databricks requirements.
- Knowledge of Unity Catalog and data governance is desirable.
DevOps
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles and practices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of Git-based source control and branching strategies.
- Experience with build, release, testing, deployment, monitoring, and environment management.
- Understanding of automated infrastructure and application deployment.
Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
- Good working knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Ability to understand and define requirements for Terraform-managed Azure infrastructure.
- Understanding of Terraform modules, variables, state, providers, and environments.
- Familiarity with automated Terraform deployment through CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of infrastructure governance, security, and change management.
Product Management Skills
- Strong experience in Product Ownership / Product Management within technology, data, cloud, or platform environments.
- Excellent backlog management and prioritization skills.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Ability to write clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience managing multiple priorities, dependencies, and delivery timelines.
- Ability to understand complex technical concepts and convert them into business outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Experience working with data platforms, cloud transformation, or enterprise technology platforms.
- Experience in large-scale Azure implementations.
- Knowledge of Python, SQL, Spark, or REST APIs.
- Experience with data governance, security, privacy, and compliance.
- Familiarity with FinOps / cloud cost optimization.
- Experience working with platform engineering or internal developer platforms.
- Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer, or Azure DevOps Engineer are desirable.
- Databricks certification is a plus.
