Project Overview
We are looking for a
Product Marketing specialist to play an integral role in the roll out and early adoption of our new online learning platform. Our team has built a suite of digital courses using Absorb as our LMS (Learning Management Software).
Our go-live date is September 15 and we are looking for a contractor that can own user acquisition including: B2C audience definition, product positioning, messaging, launch strategy and performance measurement.
The contractor will be working with an existing team of TGC staff who will own the tasks of project management, learner journey in the LMS, course material design, and system configuration. Please see below for a more detailed project scope.
Timeline
This is anticipated to be a five month contract, with onboarding in late July, and a target LMS launch date of September 15. The role includes monitoring and recommendations for adjustments post-launch.
Ideal Fit
- 5+ years of experience in Product Marketing, including ownership of product positioning, go-to-market strategy, audience segmentation, messaging and launch planning.
- Experience marketing online learning, EdTech, membership or digital education products is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading at least one successful product, platform, digital service, membership, learning product, or SaaS launch.
- Previous experience working in a consulting capacity on a product marketing project
- Comfortable working fully remote, collaborating with a remote team
- We are prioritizing contractors who are located in Canada and within +/- 1 hour from EST time zone
Budget
Our budget for this role is $90 - 110/hr + HST (where applicable) for a total maximum of 250 project hours, billed monthly for work completed. We anticipate the first three months being more hours worked (leading up to the launch) and then fewer hours in the remaining two months (monitoring and making adjustments).

Selection Process
Our team will review all applicants using a scoring matrix that reflects the items listed in the project brief. A shortlist of candidates will be invited for a virtual interview with 2-3 TGC team members, interviews tentatively planned for July 9-10. If needed, we may ask for a follow up call or a work sample.
The successful candidate will be asked to share three professional references that can speak to their work in Product Marketing and Consulting.

Scope of Work
The Product Marketer will be responsible for developing and guiding the go-to-market strategy, learner acquisition approach, enrollment funnel, launch campaign direction, performance measurement framework and post-launch optimization recommendations.
This Includes
Audience & Market Definition
- Review the LMS product suite and identify priority audiences for launch.
- Refine learner segments, with an initial focus on job seeker audiences.
- Identify audience needs, motivations, barriers to enrollment and preferred acquisition channels.
Product Positioning & Messaging
- Develop positioning for the LMS and priority course offerings.
- Create messaging recommendations that clearly communicate who the platform is for, why it matters, and why learners should enroll.
- Provide messaging guidance for use across website content, email communications, social media, partnerships, and launch materials.
Go-To-Market & Acquisition Strategy
- Develop the launch strategy for the LMS and priority courses.
- Define learner acquisition and enrollment strategies.
- Recommend acquisition channels, campaign priorities, audience-specific tactics and partnership opportunities.
- Own the strategic direction and performance of the LMS launch campaign.
- Establish performance targets and success metrics for launch.
Funnel Performance & Optimization
- Design the learner acquisition and enrollment funnel.
- Define key conversion points and measurement requirements.
- Recommend reporting structure and performance dashboards.
- Monitor launch performance and provide recommendations to improve acquisition, enrollment, engagement and completion rates.
Collaboration with TGC Team
The Product Marketer will work with TGC staff who are responsible for project management, LMS configuration, learner journey, course design, content/assets and implementation.
The Contractor is not expected to own LMS technical setup, course production or platform configuration.

Success Criteria
Success in this role looks like:
- Priority B2C audiences are clearly defined and understood.
- The LMS and course offerings are positioned clearly and consistently.
- The right learners immediately understand the value of enrolling.
- A practical and achievable launch strategy is developed and implemented.
- Learner acquisition, enrollment, and engagement performance are measured against defined targets.
- TGC has visibility into funnel performance and key conversion metrics.
- Launch performance is actively reviewed and translated into actionable recommendations.
- Performance targets established at the start of the project are met or exceeded where reasonably achievable.
- Documentation is maintained throughout the project and transferred to the team at project end so that we have a clear record of what worked and how to support future iterations.
