Job details:
Role Purpose
Owns the entire customer onboarding journey into the Ashika ecosystem ensuring compliance, speed, and conversion across every platform. This role is the gateway to the business: every trader, investor, and partner starts here, and the experience they have in their first few minutes sets the tone for every relationship that follows.
Key Ownership Areas
The Product Manager – Onboarding & KYC will directly own the following product surfaces and
workflows:
• Account Opening — Account opening flows across web and mobile — trading, demat, and segment activations (equity, F&O, commodity, currency)
• eKYC & Verification — End-to-end eKYC and document verification — Aadhaar-based eKYC,
DigiLocker, PAN, bank, and income proof flows, eSign, and In-Person Verification (IPV)
• Partner Onboarding — Dealer and partner onboarding journeys — Authorized Persons (APs), sub-brokers, remisiers, referral partners, and RIA tie-ups
• Re-KYC & Updates — Re-KYC journeys and regulatory-driven profile updates — periodic risk
categorisation, FATCA/CRS refreshes, nominee updates, and address/bank changes
Core Responsibilities
Funnel Ownership
• Define and own onboarding funnel metrics — drop-off points, turnaround time (TAT), first-time
success rate, and end-to-end conversion
• Instrument every step of the journey to understand where, why, and how users abandon — and
design targeted interventions for each leak
• Build re-entry and recovery journeys for users who drop mid-flow, through SMS, WhatsApp, email, and push nudges
Compliance vs UX Trade-offs
• Prioritize compliance and UX as co-equal goals — never ship journeys that sacrifice one for the
other
• Translate SEBI, CDSL/NSDL, PMLA, and AMFI requirements into minimum-friction user experiences
• Drive decisions on risk-based KYC, digital vs assisted flows, and progressive onboarding (open first, verify later where permitted)
Cross-Functional Coordination
• Coordinate closely with legal, compliance, and operations teams to keep flows audit-ready and
responsive to regulatory change
• Partner with engineering on integrations — Aadhaar/UIDAI, DigiLocker, KRA/CKYC, CDSL/NSDL,
bank-account verification (penny-drop, UPI), eSign, and esign-NSDL providers
• Work with the design team to build a reassuring, trust-forward onboarding experience — especially at the high-friction moments of document upload, OTP, and eSign
Platform Consistency
• Ensure a single, consistent onboarding experience across mobile app, responsive web, and assisted (branch / RM) flows
• Design a unified KYC data model that serves retail customers, HNIs, corporates, NRIs, and partners rom one backbone
• Own the dealer/partner onboarding journey
Continuous Improvement
• Run a steady cadence of A/B tests and UX improvements on every step with measurable drop-off
• Benchmark the onboarding experience against leading Indian platforms
• Keep a forward-looking roadmap for regulatory shifts — new KYC norms, digital account
aggregation, and evolving risk-based compliance
Experience
• 4–8 years of Product Management experience, with at least 2 years in onboarding, KYC, identity, or regulated-customer-acquisition flows
• Prior exposure to Indian fintech, broking, banking, or lending onboarding strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ownership of a conversion funnel with measurable improvement in drop-offs, TAT,
or first-time success rate
Skills & Attributes
• Strong understanding of the Indian KYC ecosystem — Aadhaar/UIDAI, DigiLocker, KRA, CKYC,
CDSL/NSDL demat opening, eSign, and IPV
• Working knowledge of SEBI account-opening norms, PMLA, FATCA/CRS, risk categorisation, and
periodic Re-KYC requirements
• Comfort with data — SQL, funnel analytics, cohort analysis, experimentation, and conversion-rate
optimisation
• Sharp bias for detail and edge cases — name mismatches, signature failures, bank-verification edge
cases, and document-quality handling
• Ability to navigate ambiguity across legal, compliance, ops, and engineering — turning regulatory
input into concrete product decisions
• Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to compliance committees,
partners, and leadership
Education
• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field. MBA or equivalent is a plus
but not required.
