Experience Required
- 5-10 years in Sales & Marketing within a reputed Seed Company / Agri-input / Agri-business organization
- Proven experience in:
- Channel development
- Institutional sales
- Business development in seeds/agri-inputs
Key Responsibilities
- Business Planning & Strategy
- Develop mid-term and long-term business plans in alignment with leadership
- Drive volume, value, and gross margin targets for assigned crop
- Define product lifecycle (PLC) and growth strategy
- Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with Production, R&D, Sales, and Supply Chain teams
- Support production planning to ensure timely product availability
- Provide inputs for product evaluation, trials, and development
- Seed Supply & Operations Management
- Ensure end-to-end seed availability as per business plan
- Monitor stock levels (carry-forward & fresh arrivals)
- Oversee packaging readiness and dispatch planning
- Marketing & Demand Generation
- Lead all marketing initiatives for assigned crop
- Design and execute integrated marketing campaigns (offline + digital)
- Develop product positioning and branding strategies
- Optimize marketing spends through performance tracking
- Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy
- Create and execute demand generation plans with clear timelines
- Drive channel engagement and farmer outreach programs
- Enable sales teams through training (product & agronomy)
- Budgeting & Performance Management
- Prepare and manage regional and zonal budgets
- Track sales vs. targets and marketing spends
- Drive P&L accountability and profitability
- Market Intelligence & Insights
- Conduct market mapping, segmentation, and competitive analysis
- Gather customer insights through surveys and field interactions
- Develop value-based pricing strategies
Educational Qualifications
- B.Sc. Agriculture / M.Sc. Agriculture (mandatory)
- MBA in Marketing (preferred)
