About the Job:
The Product Manager will be responsible for the technical positioning, and lifecycle management of ACO’s Grease Separators, Lifting Stations, and Oil Separators product portfolio in India. This role requires strong technical understanding, market development capability, and close collaboration with sales, application engineering, and global product teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Expertise
- Develop deep expertise across:
- Product Range: Grease Separators, Oil Separators, Lifting Stations and water management products
- Product Features & Configurations (gravity, automatic, underground/above-ground, pumping capacities, etc.)
- Provide guidance on:
- Operation & Maintenance (O&M) requirements
- Installation best practices and commissioning support
- Drive product development to suit Indian regulations, site conditions, and customer needs
- Lead diagnosis and troubleshooting of product/system issues at project sites
- Ensure availability and understanding of spare parts and service requirements
- Act as the central point of coordination with factory teams at Europe for:
- Technical clarifications
- Customizations
- Issue resolution
2. Organization & Administration
- Define and optimize the product portfolio for the Indian market based on demand and application segments
- Manage product lifecycle from introduction to growth and optimization
- Conduct regular training programs for:
- Sales teams
- Service teams
- Channel partners
- Plan and manage inventory and stock levels in coordination with supply chain
- Work closely with the sales team on:
- Project funnel tracking
- Pipeline projections and forecasting
- Perform detailed competitor analysis, including:
- Product portfolio
- Technical specifications
- Pricing benchmarks
Develop and implement pricing strategies aligned with market positioning, competition, and profitability targets
3. Product Strategy & Market Development
- Develop and execute growth strategies for assigned product lines
- Drive specifications with consultants and influence key projects
- Identify new business opportunities across target segments
4. Commercial & Cross-functional Coordination
- Support sales in key opportunities and negotiations
- Work cross-functionally with:
- Sales
- Application Engineering
- Supply Chain
- Global Product Teams
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / civil / environmental engineering
- MBA (preferred)
Experience
- 6–10 years of experience in:
- Water/wastewater systems
- Plumbing/mechanical building services
- Pumps and motor
- Added advantage if experience with:
- Grease separators and commercial kitchen systems; Oil/petrol separators for industrial applications
- Lifting stations and sewage pumping systems
- Exposure to international standards (EN, DIN, IS codes)
- Experience in companies dealing with building drainage, water management, or MEP solutions
