Role Overview
We are looking for a driven and empathetic Product Manager to own and evolve the FireTweet platform end-to-end. You will work closely with the founding team, engineering, sales, and field operations to translate real-world fire-safety pain points into scalable, delightful product experiences — from the IoT device firmware to the dashboard seen by facility managers and government inspectors.
This is a high-ownership role at a purpose-driven startup where your product decisions directly impact the safety of thousands of occupants across hundreds of buildings.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Strategy & Roadmap
• Own the product vision, strategy, and 12-month roadmap for the FireTweet platform (IoT hardware integration, mobile app, web dashboard, and API layer).
• Conduct ongoing market research on fire safety regulations (NBC, IS:2189, state Fire Prevention Acts), competitor landscape, and emerging IoT/AI technologies.
• Prioritise features using frameworks such as RICE or MoSCoW, balancing regulatory requirements, customer requests, and business goals.
•
Discovery & Stakeholder Management
• Engage directly with facility managers, fire safety officers, government inspectors, and AMC partners to uncover pain points and validate product hypotheses.
• Partner with the sales team to convert customer insights into differentiated product capabilities that accelerate deal closures.
• Present product updates, roadmaps, and metrics to leadership and investors.
Execution & Delivery
• Write clear, detailed PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria for engineering sprints.
• Collaborate with firmware, backend, and frontend engineers to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.
• Define and track KPIs — device uptime, inspection compliance rates, customer retention, NPS, and time-to-alert — and drive continuous improvement.
IoT & Integration
• Work with the hardware team to define sensor data schemas, MQTT/HTTP protocols, OTA update strategies, and edge-computing requirements.
• Own integrations with third-party systems such as BMS platforms, government compliance portals (Form 'B' certification), and facility management software.
Go-to-Market & Growth
• Collaborate with marketing and sales on product positioning, pricing tiers, and launch plans for new verticals (healthcare, logistics, data centres).
• Support pre-sales demos, RFP responses, and pilot deployments to accelerate enterprise adoption.
Required Qualifications
• 3 – 7 years of product management experience in SaaS, IoT, or enterprise software.
• Demonstrated ability to ship 0→1 and 1→N products from concept to GA with measurable impact.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to write crisp PRDs and facilitate cross-functional alignment.
• BSc/Diploma/B.E. / B.Tech or equivalent in Computer Science, Electronics, or related engineering discipline (or an MBA with a strong technical background).
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior exposure to IoT platforms (MQTT, device management, OTA firmware updates).
• Experience in fire safety – Hydrant Sprinkler Systems, building automation, smart buildings, or compliance-driven industries.
• Familiarity with GovTech or e-governance product development.
• Working knowledge of hardware-software co-development cycles.
• Prior experience at an early-stage or growth-stage startup.
What We Offer
• Mission-driven work — your product directly saves lives.
• High ownership and autonomy from Day 1.
• Competitive compensation with performance-linked bonus.
• Opportunity to shape the product strategy of an award-winning, nationally recognised platform.
• Direct mentorship from a seasoned founding team with deep domain expertise.
• Collaborative, flat, and fast-moving work culture at our Pune HQ.
