About the Client
One of India's leading and highly diversified financial services organizations, operating across lending, insurance, wealth management, and digital payments. With a strong presence across thousands of cities and a rapidly growing customer base, the organization has invested significantly in building best-in-class digital experiences.
A key focus area is integrating behavioral thinking into product design — creating intuitive, engaging, and insight-driven user experiences based on how real users think and make decisions.
Role Overview
We are looking for a UX Product Designer with a strong grounding in Behavioral Science and Consumer Research.
This is a rare hybrid role at the intersection of behavioral insights and product design — ideal for professionals who started their careers in behavioral or consumer research and have since transitioned into hands-on UX/Product Design.
The role involves end-to-end ownership — from conducting behavioral research and generating insights to translating those into intuitive product experiences through wireframes, prototypes, and validated design solutions.
Note: This is not a pure UX Designer role or a pure Research role. Candidates must bring both research depth and hands-on design experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Behavioral Research & Consumer Discovery
- Design and lead primary research studies (qualitative & quantitative) to understand user motivations, decision-making patterns, and pain points
- Conduct interviews, ethnographic research, contextual inquiries, diary studies, and observational sessions
- Apply behavioral science frameworks (System 1 & 2 Thinking, Prospect Theory, Cognitive Biases, Nudge Theory)
- Translate research into actionable insights, hypotheses, and design principles
2. UX & Product Design
- Convert behavioral insights into UX decisions (user flows, IA, interaction design)
- Create wireframes and prototypes using Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, etc.
- Design end-to-end digital experiences across web and mobile
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams
3. Usability Testing & Behavioral Experimentation
- Conduct usability testing, prototype validation, and concept testing
- Run A/B tests and behavioral experiments
- Analyze results and iterate designs
4. End-to-End Design Ownership
- Own full lifecycle: Research → Insights → Design → Testing → Iteration
- Create journey maps, blueprints, and behavioral flows
- Maintain research and design documentation
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Data teams
- Present insights and design solutions to stakeholders
- Promote a user-first, evidence-based design culture
6. Digital Behavior Analysis
- Analyze behavioral data (engagement, drop-offs, heatmaps)
- Combine qualitative and quantitative insights for decision-making
Key Skills & Competencies
Core Skills
- Strong Behavioral Science foundation (Cognitive Biases, Decision Science, Consumer Psychology)
- Hands-on research experience (interviews, ethnography, surveys, experiments)
