Job Description
Take a lead role in acquiring, managing and retaining meaningful relationships that deliver outstanding experience to our customers. In this role, you will balance your focus on business results by offering options and finding solutions to help our customers with issues.
As a Experience Design Vice President within the Global Private Bank Design Studio, you will own the design quality and delivery for a focused product domain. You will lead a small team of 2–3 designers, operating as a player-coach who contributes hands-on to complex design work while developing your team's craft, confidence, and execution. You will work as a core member of a Product, Technology, Design triad, partnering closely with globally distributed teams to shape experiences for some of the world's most sophisticated wealth management clients.
Job Responsibilities
- Own design quality within your domain: Set the quality bar, run structured critique, and coach designers to consistently deliver usable, accessible, well-crafted work.
- Contribute hands-on across the full design process: Problem framing, research synthesis, interaction design, prototyping, and delivery
- Partner with Product and Technology as a peer: Align on scope, priorities, and roadmap; represent design in planning discussions and resolve misalignment early
- Champion user needs: Ensure research and discovery inform decisions, and advocate for the user perspective in trade-off conversations
- Plan and manage team delivery: Scope work realistically, balance capacity, and communicate risks before they become blockers
- Integrate AI and emerging tools thoughtfully to improve team quality and velocity, while keeping design fundamentals front and centre
- Shape team culture: Model the studio values, build an inclusive and accountable environment, and run the rituals (1:1s, retros, feedback conversations) that make teams grow
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- 12+ years of product design experience, with demonstrated experience leading and mentoring other designers
- Hands-on across the full design process, from early discovery and research synthesis through high-fidelity interaction
- Deep working knowledge of Figma and digital accessibility standards
- Proven experience within enterprise design systems and complex product environments
- Strong relationship builder, can work effectively with Product and Technology partners and hold design's perspective in planning forums
- Clear, confident communicator, translates design rationale into product and business language without losing the nuance
- Flexible to work outside normal business hours to accommodate communications with international colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- Experience in financial services, wealth management, or a similarly complex, regulated domain
- A genuine coaching instinct, you develop designers through how you give feedback, run critique, and model craft, not just through formal reviews
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted design workflows (research synthesis, rapid prototyping, content generation) and a considered point of view on when and how to use them
- A portfolio that shows systems thinking, evidence of how your design decisions connected to product outcomes, not just polished deliverables
- Ability to adapt and reprioritize as stakeholder needs, business context, or team capacity shift
