About the Role:
We are not looking for someone who wants to “get into product”.
We are looking for someone who already behaves like a product person.
Someone who builds things. Ships things. Breaks things. Obsesses over user behaviour. Has probably done 3 internships instead of 1 because they were too curious to sit still.
If you have spent your college years working with startups, building side projects, running experiments, writing product docs, doing growth hacks, or vibe coding random ideas at 2 AM — this will feel familiar.
At Leap, you will work closely with product, engineering to solve real user problems at scale. This is not a “shadow the PM and take notes” role. You will own things.
The charter for this role will include
- Working closely with Product Managers to identify key user problems and business opportunities
- Speaking to users regularly and developing a deep understanding of user behaviour, motivations, and pain points
- Writing clear product requirement documents (PRDs), user stories, workflows, and acceptance criteria for new features and product improvements
- Collaborating with engineering, design, growth, and business teams to ensure smooth execution and timely shipping of products/features
- Running experiments across different parts of the user journey and identifying opportunities to improve activation, engagement, retention, and conversion
- Looking at product metrics, funnels, and behavioural data to make informed product decisions instead of relying only on intuition
- Conducting market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, product gaps, and new opportunities for innovation
- Supporting end-to-end product launches including testing, feedback collection, go-to-market coordination, and post-launch analysis
- Taking ownership of smaller product pods/modules independently over time and driving execution with minimal handholding
- Operating in a fast-paced startup environment where priorities can change quickly and problems are often ambiguous
Ideal Persona
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in product and startup roles, or similar fast-moving environments
- Someone who has done multiple internships, startup stints, side projects, freelancing work, campus initiatives, or has consistently shown high ownership outside academics
- Strong curiosity towards consumer internet products, user psychology, technology, and business
- Comfortable working in ambiguity and able to move fast without waiting for perfectly defined instructions
- Strong communication and structured thinking skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas
- High agency individual who naturally takes initiative and drives things independently
- Good product intuition along with a willingness to use data and user insights while making decisions
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action and learning by doing
- Someone who enjoys solving messy problems rather than operating only in structured environments
- Prior experience working with product, engineering, design, marketing, or growth teams through internships/projects/startups is a strong plus
- Brownie points if you actively build things using AI tools, experiment with vibe coding, ship internet projects, or spend time exploring emerging consumer/product trends
- We value builders, operators, and self-starters much more than people who simply know product management terminology
