Job Title: Product Analyst – Indian Customs
Location: Mumbai (Marol)

Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with a strong understanding of Indian Customs laws, procedures, ERP systems, and Sales & CRM processes to support compliance and business operations across logistics. This role involves ensuring that systems, workflows, and documentation processes align with the Indian Customs Act, ICEGATE system, Bill of Entry/Shipping Bill filing, EDI processes, duty structures, and special schemes (EPCG, SEZ, EOU, RoDTEP), while also supporting Sales pipelines, customer lifecycle management, and CRM workflows. The ideal candidate will work closely with product and development teams to enhance system functionalities, drive automation initiatives, and support AI-based document processing solutions (OCR/IDP).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Specifications for Indian Customs Compliance & Business Workflows:
- Gather and analyze business requirements with a focus on Indian Customs regulations, Sales, and CRM workflows.
- Develop detailed functional specifications aligned with ICEGATE, EDI, and CRM/business process requirements.
- Ensure system integration across Customs, Sales, and CRM modules within the ERP.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to validate document flows and business processes.
2. Working with Development & Testing Teams
- Translate regulatory updates (customs circulars, tariff changes, DGFT updates) and business needs into functional system enhancements.
- Work closely with development teams to implement features across:
- Customs modules
- Sales workflows (quotations, pipeline tracking)
- CRM processes (customer lifecycle, interactions)
- Participate in UAT and system testing for:
- Document validation
- Duty calculations
- Sales and CRM workflow accuracy
- Simulate real-world operational scenarios (e.g., JNPT, ICDs, shipment lifecycle, customer handling) within the system.
- Manage requirements, user stories, and sprint tracking using Jira.
3. Project & Risk Management
- Manage multiple projects related to customs compliance, ERP enhancements, and Sales & CRM improvements.
- Ensure integration with external systems such as ICEGATE and Client systems via API/EDI/XML/JSON.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to:
- Incorrect customs declarations
- Filing errors
- CRM data inconsistencies
- Process inefficiencies
- Track updates to Notifications, Public Notices, and Tariff changes, and ensure system readiness.
4. Continuous Process Improvement & Automation
- Recommend improvements to reduce manual efforts in:
- Customs documentation and filing
- Sales processes and reporting
- CRM workflows and customer data management
- Contribute to AI-based OCR / Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solutions for:
- Automated document reading
- Data extraction (invoices, packing lists, shipping docs)
- Auto-creation of transactions in ERP systems
- Leverage feedback from audits and Customer inputs to improve system efficiency.
5. Stakeholder & Regulatory Engagement
- Engage with stakeholders including freight forwarders and customers.
- Facilitate alignment between business, operations, and technical teams.
- Communicate regulatory and system updates through documentation, training, and release notes.
- Support teams managing self-filing via ICEGATE and CRM-driven customer workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, Business, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in Indian Customs / Business Analysis / ERP / Sales & CRM domain
- Strong knowledge of:
- Indian Customs clearance lifecycle
- Bill of Entry, Shipping Bill, EDI filing
- Sales pipeline and CRM processes
- Experience working with ERP systems (Customs, Sales, CRM modules)
- Hands-on experience with Jira for requirement and project tracking
Technical & Functional Skills
- Knowledge of API, EDI, XML, JSON integrations
- Understanding of ICEGATE Systems and integrations
- Experience to AI-based OCR / IDP solutions
- Strong documentation skills (BRD, FRD, user stories)
- Familiarity with Agile methodology
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of Indian Customs and Indian schemes like EPCG, SEZ, EOU, RoDTEP
- Certification in Custom Laws, Exim Management training is plus point.
- Experience with logistics/customs ERP platforms (For Eg, Logisys and Live Impex)
- Exposure to automation and AI-driven solutions in logistics
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
