About the Role
- We are looking for a research-driven and hands-on Product Analyst – Mobile Apps who can identify what we should build, translate research into clear product journeys, and validate whether the final feature delivers the intended customer outcome.
- You will work on consumer mobile applications involving GPS, maps, location services, offline downloads, audio, payments, and travel experiences.
- You will follow features across the complete product lifecycle:
Research → Recommend → Document → Wireframe → Test → Validate → Measure
This role follows an 80/10/10 model:
- 80% — Competitor, market and product research
- 10% — UX documentation and wireframing
- 10% — Product-acceptance testing and validation
80% — Competitor, Market and Product Research
- Regularly download, use, and analyze competing and best-in-class iOS and Android applications.
- Map complete journeys covering onboarding, discovery, purchase, activation, engagement, retention, upselling, and support.
- Study competitor features, navigation, pricing, paywalls, permissions, notifications, error handling, and monetization strategies.
- Monitor App Store and Play Store trends, ratings, reviews, releases, and customer feedback.
- Use tools such as Sensor Tower, data.ai, Similarweb, AppMagic, or equivalent research platforms.
- Analyze internal mobile funnels, cohorts, conversion rates, retention, and customer drop-off points.
- Use Amplitude, Mixpanel, Firebase Analytics, GA4, CleverTap, or equivalent analytics tools.
- Compare performance across iOS, Android, app versions, products, geographies, and acquisition channels.
- Combine competitor intelligence, customer feedback, support issues, and internal data to identify product opportunities.
- Prioritize opportunities based on customer value, business impact, evidence, complexity, risk, and strategic relevance.
- Present clear recommendations explaining what should be built, why it matters, and how success should be measured.
- Maintain an organized repository of competitor screenshots, journeys, benchmarks, findings, and recommendations.
10% — UX Documentation and Wireframing
- Convert approved opportunities into concise feature briefs.
- Define the problem, target user, supporting evidence, proposed solution, scope, exclusions, business rules, dependencies, risks, and success metrics.
- Create end-to-end user journeys covering primary, alternate, empty, loading, error, offline, permission, interruption, and recovery states.
- Produce low- or medium-fidelity mobile wireframes using Figma, FigJam, Balsamiq, Miro, or similar tools.
- Annotate wireframes with user actions, navigation behaviour, validations, system responses, and analytics requirements.
- Write lightweight user stories and clear acceptance criteria.
- Define the feature’s Definition of Ready and Definition of Done.
- Conduct a structured handoff to Product Managers, designers, developers, and QA.
- This role owns the user journey and feature logic—not polished visual UI design.
10% — Product-Acceptance Testing and Validation
- Convert requirements, wireframes, business rules, and acceptance criteria into feature-level test scenarios and test cases.
- Personally test new features on iOS and Android development, staging, beta, and release-candidate builds.
- Perform functional, exploratory, usability, interruption, and end-to-end customer-journey testing.
- Test relevant conditions such as poor connectivity, offline usage, app relaunch, permission changes, GPS inaccuracies, audio interruption, deep links, payment failures, and incomplete downloads.
- Validate that analytics events and properties fire correctly.
- Report defects with clear reproduction steps, expected and actual results, screenshots, recordings, and environment details.
- Classify issues by severity, priority, customer impact, and release risk.
- Retest fixes and perform focused regression around the affected feature.
- Recommend whether a feature is:
- Ready for release
- Ready with accepted limitations
- In need of additional fixes
- Not ready for release
- Monitor feature adoption, customer feedback, conversion, and errors after launch.
- The Product Analyst will test with strong QA discipline but will not replace the dedicated QA team. Comprehensive regression, automation, performance, security, and overall release QA remain with the QA function.
AI-First Working Style
This role requires someone who is a heavy, hands-on user of AI tools, particularly ChatGPT and Claude, as well as other relevant AI platforms.
You should use AI daily to accelerate:
- Competitor and market research
- Customer-review analysis
- Research synthesis and comparison
- Funnel and data analysis
- Product ideation
- User-flow exploration
- Wireframe preparation
- Feature documentation
- Test-scenario and test-case creation
- Defect analysis
- Presentation of findings
We are not looking for someone who uses AI only to rewrite emails. You should know how to structure effective prompts, compare outputs from different AI tools, build repeatable AI-assisted workflows, and use AI to improve the speed and depth of your work.
You must also be able to verify AI-generated findings, identify hallucinations or weak assumptions, protect confidential information, and take full responsibility for the accuracy of the final output.
What We Are Looking For
- 3–5 years of experience in mobile product analysis, product research, competitive intelligence, business analysis, UX analysis, mobile QA, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of native iOS and Android applications.
- Proven ability to analyze and deconstruct complete mobile user journeys.
- Hands-on experience with mobile product analytics and market-intelligence tools.
- Experience creating user flows and low- or medium-fidelity wireframes.
- Experience writing acceptance criteria, test scenarios, and test cases.
- Hands-on mobile application testing experience.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills; working SQL knowledge is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, written, visual, and presentation skills.
- An AI-first mindset with regular, demonstrable use of ChatGPT, Claude, and other relevant AI tools.
- Ability to distinguish evidence, assumptions, opinions, and AI-generated suggestions.
Good to Have
- Experience with travel, navigation, maps, GPS/location-based, audio, e-commerce, or subscription applications.
- Familiarity with AppsFlyer, Adjust, Branch, TestRail, Zephyr, Xray, Postman, Charles Proxy, or Appium.
- Experience working with international consumer markets.
What Success Looks Like
- Research leads to clear product decisions, not generic reports.
- Opportunities are supported by both market evidence and internal data.
- Features enter development with clear journeys, wireframes, acceptance criteria, and success metrics.
- Product and usability gaps are identified before release.
- Delivered features match the original product intent.
- Post-launch results are measured and used to guide further improvements.
- AI meaningfully improves research speed and output quality without compromising accuracy.
Why Join Us?
- Influence mobile-product decisions from initial research through launch.
- Study leading global apps and international consumer trends.
- Work across research, UX, analytics, and product quality.
- Connect your recommendations directly to conversion, engagement, retention, ratings, and revenue.
- Work from a conveniently located office near Marol in Andheri East.
